et d’humour et m’ont fait découvrir de très belles mathématiques dans la joie. Je ne saurais
exprimer toute ma gratitude envers Julien d’avoir été toujours disponible pour m’aiguiller avec
passion dans les maths et avec réalisme et bienveillance dans l’avenir. Au travers des mille-et-
unequestionsfascinantesqu’ilm’aposées,j’ainaviguéavecplaisirentrelesmultiplesfacettesde
la topo-logique et en ai découvert la richesse avec émerveillement. Au-delà des mathématiques,
je remercie vivement Julien d’avoir égayé mes quatre années de thèse par de rocambolesques
récits d’aventures et d’avoir affuté mon gout certain pour les blagues d’un gout moins certain!
Je suis aussi très reconnaissante à Itaï d’avoir patiemment toléré mes questions idiotes de théo-
rie des modèles (même avec multiplicité) et d’avoir été, dans ses réponses, un véritable oracle.
Je le remercie aussi de sa rafraichissante spontanéité et d’avoir été toujours un excellent public
auxdites blagues de logiciennes!
Tout au long de ma thèse (et même un peu avant), Todor Tsankov m’a menée avec un grand
enthousiasme de conférences en balades, de topologies en pièces de théâtre. Nos conversations,
autant mathématiques que linguistiques, ont été très enrichissantes et il est pour moi un mo-
dèle. C’est un grand honneur qu’il m’a fait en acceptant de relire mon travail et je l’en remercie

grateful for his incredibly thorough proofreading : my thesis owes him a lot of clarity and the

I am also very honored that Christian Rosendal and Marcin Sabok took an interest in my

ses excellents exposés, et les (trop rares) échanges que nous avons eus, m’a beaucoup appris et
a été une grande source d’inspiration pour mon travail. Je le remercie d’avoir accepté de faire

Je tiens également à remercier les personnes avec qui j’ai eu le plaisir de collaborer et à qui,
bien entendu, cette thèse doit beaucoup. Itaï, merci encore! I have had the chance to work with
Isabel Müller on several projects and several occasions and it has been an immense pleasure
every time. Feeling absolutely free to express the most stupid thoughts (possibly again and
again) made for a nice back-and-forth understanding and a fruitful homogeneous collaboration.
Together, we also have braved the triangle inequality if not with success, with great enthusiasm.
I thank her for being an inexhaustible source of motivation and cheerfulness, and for helping me
fix the last chapter at such short notice. It was also very pleasant and enriching to work with
Aristotelis Panagiotopoulos on those questions of homogeneity. I thank him for his easygoin-
