With growing concerns about climate change and environmental degradation,
sustainability has become a strategic priority for organizations around the world.
Governments,consumers,andinvestorsarenowpushingautomotiveorganizations
tochangetheirwaysofworking,culture,andproducts.So,wheredoestheindustry
standtodayintermsofitssustainabilityinitiativesandwhatdoesthefuturehold?
International Conference on Advances in Sustainable Technologies (ICAST
2020)organizedbyLovelyProfessionalUniversity,Jalandhar,Punjab,India,from
November6to7,2020,aimedtoanswerthisquestionandprovidealeadingforumto
thescientists,researchers,academicians,industryprofessionals,andstudentsacross
theglobeforsharingoriginalresearchcontributionsandpracticaldevelopmentsinthe
fieldofmechanicalengineeringandsustainabletechnologies.Theconferencealso
providedanopportunityfornationalandinternationalexpertsandindustryleaders
tosharetheirexperiencesandsuccessstories.ICAST2020playedakeyroletoset
upabridgebetweenacademiaandindustry.
DuetotheprevailingCOVID-19pandemic,theconferencewasorganizedvirtu-
allyandhostedaround500participantsfromIndiaandacrosstheworldtoexchange
their scientific ideas. During 2 days of the conference, researchers from academia
andindustrieswentthroughvariousscientificbrainstormingtechnicalsessionsand
