In this volume we present the results of the conference on Aristotle’s
Physics, book VII, chapter 3, which took place in Vitznau (Switzerland)
from the 12th to the 15th of April 2007. The conference was orga-
nized by the European Society for Ancient Philosophy (ESAP) and
the HYELE Institute for Comparative Studies. We wish to thank
the latter for its generous sponsorship and the organizational sup-
port which made the conference possible. We also want to express
