In 1995, the band played a
triumphant homecoming at the
Oxford Apollo, a venue Thom had
once been ejected from!
Thom sang a duet on the
Drugstore album, and made a few
appearances on their tour.
Radiohead were in demand, and the
members of the band continue to
turn up on various
collaborations, including
film soundtracks, such as Velvet
Goldmine.
In late 1998, Thom had a case of
writer’s block. He said: “Every time
I picked up a guitar I just got the

“I was sinking down and down”.
Thanks to the Warp record label
he took a liking to whilst in Uni,
Thom got back on track.
He bought their back catalogue
and was inspired by the structures
in the music, bringing out the same
emotions as guitar music did.
And the rest, as they say, is
history.
