RANSCENDENTAL Shadow Magic is a process the initiate of the Black
Arts goes through in order to achieve an awakening of their own shadow self.
The shadow can be viewed in Jungian psychological terms, or in meta-magical
ways. The basic principal remains the same either way. It is the arduous process
of coming to know one’s own darker self. Darkness and the shadow are the
sources of self-creation.
Darkness exists beyond the realm of the living, on the periphery of ordinary
human conscious expression. The shadow is our own personal internal black
flame mirror image of this great creative magical force known as darkness. It is
more than just a reflection or image of our self, cast outwards beyond our self. It
has substance. This substance is a sort of essence of Being. It needs to be
charged, consecrated, and empowered. Over the course of time and with much
effort on the magician’s part, this shadow self can be imbued with consciousness
and self-expression.
It is in a very literal sense the double, or doppelganger. It is the source of
such legendary things as bio-location, anthropomorphism, and vampirism. The
shadow can continue to live on beyond the physical death of the body. However,
it is at this point that the double needs to be brought into the self. If the self and
the double remain separate, then drastic results can take effect.
The magician must master the self-first and then master the shadow so that
the shadow is under the full conscious control of the self as an aspect of that self.
This shadow we speak of also harbors memories and experiences that help
to develop the psychological functions of the human mind and intellect. This is
the Jungian aspect of it and how it relates to Jungian psychology. It should be
obvious to the experienced sorcerer at this point why it is so important to have
mastery of the self to pursue this form of magical practice.
This isn’t just something to dabble with. Doors can be opened which there
after cannot be closed. This is a re-occurring theme in the teachings of the black
arts, and rightly so.
By consciously working with the dark art of shadow magic, the magician
can manifest changes that may perhaps be unintended. Messing around with
spatial forms of magic, the magician can enable unwanted outcomes to slip into
manifestation.
This shouldn’t be taken as a threatening warning as much as a blessing for
positive change, that will by its very nature also involve a lot of very terrifying
experiences. However, at the same time, it is a sort of warning to just simply be
careful and to be fully aware of what one is dealing with, and the results then can
manifest that lie at the periphery of one’s understanding. We carry in our hearts
the black flame of magical power.
It is the source of all the creativity in us that leads to self- evolution and the
manifestation of our magical will power. It is through us that the dark chaotic
cosmic void flows through us allowing us to awaken ourselves to our own
internal and external self-created divine spark of dark inter-dimensional creative
magical force. We are the harbingers of the next lever of dark manifestation in
this world. This darkness is not related to juvenile acts of random or
premeditated manslaughter or murder.
Nor is it related in any way to physical violence. It is a self- created force.
Just as the universe we live in is born out of darkness. So are we. Darkness
composes the mass majority of the universe. However, there is not just one
universe (uni = one; verse = an interplay of various components making up a
whole unit; one whole unit), but rather an entire multi-verse. We are each and
every one of us a universe unto ourselves, if not a multi-verse unto ourselves.
Getting familiar with and coming to know one’s own shadow allows the
individual to work with the deeper levels of Transcendental Shadow Magic. We
can work with our shadow in ways unimaginable to the average human being, let
alone the average magician.
Especially those caught up in the trap of Right Hand Path dogma, or
Western Left Hand Path indoctrination. The human consciousness is key in these
workings. There are parallels with shadow and the doppelganger.
The black magician immerses their consciousness into their shadow and
exists as one with it. This can be done during sleep in the form of lucid dream
magic or while awake. In a waking state the magician casts their consciously
imbued shadow out into the nether regions of existence.
This is what most people would refer to as astral projection or out of body
experiences. The key difference being that the black magician projects their will
power out along with their shadow and guides it with focus and intent.
Most astral travelers just go along with the flow and experience whatever is
thrown before them. The black magician deliberately uses their inherent magical
force to guide their shadow, or doppelganger, out on journeys to gain knowledge
of other dimensions and to empower the self. When the shadow returns to the
physical body of the black magician, all of its experiences are brought into the
conscious sphere of that person’s forefront of knowledge and knowing.
