2019 Excellence in Journalism Awards

Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 -- The Pennsylvania Women’s Press Association is now accepting

entries for the 2019 Excellence in Journalism Awards.

Each year, the contest recognizes the outstanding work of the organization’s members and
other Pennsylvania journalists across 21 categories, including general news and feature
reporting, photography, page design and multimedia projects. A complete list is available here:

The contest is open to PWPA members and non-members of all genders whose work is
published in Pennsylvania newspapers or on news websites that cover issues or people within
Pennsylvania and follow conventional print journalism standards and practices. The Student
Reporter category also is open to college students.

Entry forms, emails and fees must be submitted by 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2019.

As in the past, winners will be recognized at PWPA’s annual awards luncheon on May 18, 2019,
at the Hilton Harrisburg, as part of the Pennsylvania Press Conference. The Journalist of the
Year, the top winner among those who earn 10 or more points for awards in individual
categories, will receive a $250 prize and and a plaque.

PWPA looks forward to celebrating a wonderful year of work with all of its members and
journalists across the state.
