4 The following special provisions shall be used in conjunction with the "2012 Standard
5 Specifications for Road, Bridge and Municipal Construction" and "Standard Plans for Road,
6 Bridge, and Municipal Construction" as prepared by the Washington State Department of
7 Transportation (WSDOT). State Standard Specifications are available through WSDOT, by
8 calling [phone], or may be downloaded, free of charge, from this location on the
9 WSDOT home page: www.wsdot.wa.gov/fasc/engineeringpublications/library.htm

11 These Special Provisions are made up of both General Special Provisions (GSPs) from
12 various sources, which may have project-specific fill-ins; and project-specific Special
13 Provisions. Each Provision either supplements, modifies, or replaces the comparable
14 Standard Specification, or is a new Provision. The deletion, amendment, alteration, or
15 addition to any subsection or portion of the Standard Specifications is meant to pertain only
16 to that particular portion of the section, and in no way should it be interpreted that the
17 balance of the section does not apply.
