Lyrik hat dabei für den Autor "einen ganz anderen Stellenwert als ein Roman, der lediglich zur Unterhaltung dient", und mancher, auf das Wesentliche reduzierte Gedanke ist sehr persönlicher Natur. Das Gedichtbändchen von Ralf Göhrig enthält 77 lyrische Texte aus 30 Lebensjahren. Kurzweilig zu lesen, findet man sich in dem einen oder anderen Gedicht durchaus wieder oder wendet sich auch mal ratlos dem nächsten zu. Aber immer wieder gestattet der Autor einen tiefen Blick in seine innerste Gedankenwelt. Mal schlägt einem kühler Realismus entgegen, dann wieder staunt man über feinfühlige Beobachtungen, über tiefe Gefühle von Liebe und Freundschaft, Traurigkeit, Ängsten und Hoffnungen, sowie die Suche nach Antworten zu den großen Fragen des Lebens -- und nicht zuletzt des Ablebens. Man liest auch mal Schauriges und Schauderhaftes, doch man wird das Bändchen immer wieder gerne zur Hand nehmen. Herausgekommen ist, wie der Autor es beschreibt, "eine Melange unterschiedlichster Gedichtformen, in der Regel modern mit zum Teil expressionistischen Anklängen und einem Hauch Klassik".
