Fundación arCo
La Fundación ARCO, constituida en 1987, tiene por objeto el fomento, la investigación, divulgación y difusión del arte contemporáneo,
así como la publicación, formación y enseñanza de las tendencias y técnicas artísticas, especialmente de las relativas a las
manifestaciones del arte actual. Durante todo el año organiza actividades y pone en marcha diferentes iniciativas, acciones y premios
dirigidos a su principal objetivo: dinamizar e impulsar el mercado y el interés por el arte contemporáneo.
Desde el año 1997 la Fundación ARCO otorga los Premios “A” al coleccionismo, con los que reconoce la labor de apoyo al arte de
coleccionistas privados y empresas tanto nacionales como internacionales. Los premios “A” al Coleccionismo se otorgarán en un
evento en la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando el día 21 de febrero. Este evento será también una cena de captación de
fondos que irán destinados a la adquisición de obras en ARCOmadrid.
La Colección Fundación ARCO se encuentra depositada en el Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo donde se presentan temporalmente
exposiciones de las obras, que asimismo son cedidas a museos nacionales e internacionales con la voluntad de compartir sus
contenidos y difundir el conocimiento del arte contemporáneo.
La Fundación ARCO tiene igualmente su espacio en ARCOmadrid 2017.

The aim of the Fundación aRCO, established in 1987, is to promote, conduct research on, raise awareness of and disseminate
contemporary art as well as to foster the publication, training and teaching of art trends and techniques, especially those relating to
the expressions of today’s art. Throughout the year it organises activities and implements various initiatives, actions and awards as
part of its main goal of giving impetus and dynamism to the market.
Since the year 1997, Fundación aRCO has given the “a” awards for collecting to acknowledge private and corporate collectors who
strongly support art both nationally and internationally. The “a” Collecting awards will be given during a special event that will take
place on February 21st at Real academia de Bellas artes de San Fernando. This event will also host a fundraising dinner, with the
intention of acquiring works at aRCOmadrid.
The Centro de arte Dos de Mayo hosts the Colección Fundación aRCO. This institution showcases the collection’s works in its
exhibitions and also loans the works to national and international museums that wish to share content and promote contemporary art
knowledge.
Fundación aRCO has also its space in aRCOmadrid 2017.

Argentina llega a ARCOmadrid 2017 con una programación ambiciosa que intenta representar el estado del arte contemporáneo
argentino. Con la curaduría de Inés Katzenstein, habrá 12 galerías con obras de 23 artistas de todo el país: Alberto Greco, Sol Pipkin,
Diego Bianchi, Mirtha Dermisache, Pablo Accinelli, Eduardo Stupía, entre otros. Además, distintas instituciones culturales de Madrid
acogerán obra de artistas argentinos como Jorge Macchi, Liliana Porter, Karina Peisajovich, Leandro Erlich entre muchos otros.

The proposal is completed with the Parallel Program and argentine Scenes, under the curatorship of Sonia Becce and Marcelo
Panozzo, respectively. The former is an exhibition platform with more than sixty artists, which will bring contemporary argentine art
to the main institutions in Madrid, invading every corner of the capital with its proposals. argentine scenes (Escenas argentinas) is a
segment that seeks to show the vitality of our creators through the performing arts, music, literature and cinema.

ArtsLibris, Feria Internacional de la Edición Contemporánea de Barcelona, participa por segundo año en ARCOmadrid, renovando la
colaboración estratégica entre las ferias para difundir la edición contemporánea de libros de artista.
ArtsLibris es un espacio de encuentro y una plataforma que trabaja para que los editores y autores estén presentes en el circuito
internacional, ampliando el mercado de la edición y compartiendo áreas de interés con sectores afines, como el arte contemporáneo.
A lo largo de sus siete ediciones, ArtsLibris se ha consolidado como la feria pionera en España para la difusión y comercialización
del sector editorial del libro de artista, la bibliofilia contemporánea y el fotolibro, gracias a su oferta de expositores y el enfoque
internacional del proyecto.
Además de la directora y fundadora Rocío Santa Cruz (editora y galerista), ArtsLibris cuenta con un equipo asesor formado por Antonio
Zúñiga, reconocido editor en el ámbito de los libros de artista a nivel nacional y director de Ediciones Originales; Glòria Picazo, crítica
de arte y comisaria independiente, especialista en libros de artista; y Pedro Torres, comisario y gestor cultural.
A continuación de ARCOmadrid, del 21 al 23 de abril de 2017, tendrá lugar la octava edición de ArtsLibris en el centro Arts Santa
Mònica de Barcelona. El libro de artista, el fotolibro, la bibliofilia contemporánea, así como las publicaciones de arte, fotografía, diseño
y el heterogéneo abanico de printed matter creado por artistas de los siglos XX y XXI son el leitmotiv del evento.
Simultáneamente a la oferta editorial y expositiva de la feria, ArtsLibris Barcelona despliega un extenso programa de actividades con la
celebración de la 4ª edición del Simposio Internacional sobre Edición y Coleccionismo; el Speakers’ Corner, un espacio dinámico para
la discusión, difusión e intercambio de experiencias de los editores participantes; los talleres relacionados con el mundo de la edicón
y los libros; el Premio ArtsLibris–Fundació Banc Sabadell; la presentación de la Serie AL, una colección editorial de libros de artista en
la que colabora el editor y distribuidor Walther König –Iñaki Bonillas y Martín Vitaliti han sido los primeros autores de la colección– y,
finalmente, con la participación de Fun Fan Fest como proyecto invitado a ArtsLibris Barcelona.

Renewing the strategic collaboration between the fairs in order to spread the contemporary publication of artists’ books.
artslibris is a meeting space and platform that works to keep the editors and authors present on the international circuit, expand the
publishing market and share areas of interest with related sectors, such as contemporary art. Throughout its seven editions, artslibris
has been consolidated as the pioneering fair, in Spain, for the diffusion and commercialization of the publishing sector, pertaining to
the artist’s book, contemporary bibliophilia, and the photobook, thanks to its exhibitors and the project’s international approach.
In addition to the director and founder, Rocío Santa Cruz (publisher and gallery owner), artslibris has an advisory team made up of
antonio Zúñiga, renowned editor in the field of artists’ books, at a national level, and director of Original Editions; Glòria Picazo, art
critic and independent curator, a specialist in artists’ books; and Pedro Torres, a curator and cultural manager.
Following aRCOmadrid, from 21 to 23 april 2017, the eighth edition of artslibris will take place at arts Santa Mònica in Barcelona. The
artist’s book, the book, contemporary bibliophilia as well as the publications of art, photography, design and the heterogeneous variety
of printed matter created by artists of the 20th and 21st centuries are the leitmotiv of the event.
Simultaneously, alongside the publishing and exhibition offerings at the fair, artslibris Barcelona deploys an extensive program of

La Asociación de Coleccionistas Privados de Arte
Contemporáneo 9915 se constituye en marzo de 2012 con el
objeto de reunir los intereses de los coleccionistas de arte, para
dar solución a los eventuales problemas que esta dedicación
conlleva, promover la difusión de su actividad y reivindicar al
coleccionista privado como figura fundamental en el desarrollo
del mercado del arte internacional.
9915 se preocupa por la comunicación de la actualidad del
coleccionismo, la formación de nuevos coleccionistas, la
asesoría en asuntos como la compra, venta y préstamo de
piezas, la orientación en la conservación, embalaje, transporte,
seguros, almacenaje, documentación y certificación de obras,
así como procurar a sus socios asesoría fiscal, legal y judicial,
la elaboración de herramientas que permitan compartir entre
los socios y con comisarios e instituciones culturales, sus
colecciones.
Este año, 9915 pone en marcha la 1ª convocatoria de una
RESIDENCIA 9915 para artistas en la Fundación Delfina de
Londres. Dirigida, en esta primera edición, a artistas españoles
nacidos con posterioridad al 31 de diciembre de 1976 y
representados por galerías que participen en ARCOmadrid 2017,
esta residencia pretende proyectar fuera de nuestras fronteras
el conocimiento de proyectos de artistas que, en un momento de su carrera, necesitan un impulso y el apoyo necesarios para que su
obra sea mejor conocida en un ámbito internacional por galeristas, comisarios, instituciones y coleccionistas.
The association of Private Collectors of Contemporary art 9915 was established with the aim of pooling the interests of private art
collectors in order to address problems arising from this practice, to promote the dissemination of its activities and vindicate the status
of the private collector as a key figure in the development of the international art market.
9915 cares about the latest news in collecting, the education of new collectors, advice on matters such as buying, selling and lending
items, guidance on conservation, packaging, trasporting, ensuring, storing, documenting and certifying works, advice on tax and legal
affairs, the devising of tools enabling collections to be shared with members, curators and cultural institution.
This year, 9915 sets in motion launch of the first open call for the RESIDENCY 9915 for artists in the Delfina Foundation, london.
aimed, in this first edition, at Spanish artists born after December 31, 1976 and represented by galleries participating in
aRCOmadrid 2017. This Residency aims to project, outside our borders, the knowledge of projects by artists who, at this moment in
their career, need the necessary support and encouragement for their work to be better known internationally by gallerists, curators,
institutions and collectors.

Artika es una editorial especializada en obras de arte de grandes artistas, en cuidadas y exquisitas ediciones. Cada ejemplar, de gran
formato, forma parte de una serie numerada y limitada, con un diseño exclusivo inspirado o diseñado por el propio artista.
Artika trae a ARCOmadrid 2017, entre otras obras, uno de sus lanzamientos más esperados: antoni Tàpies. Sèrie Negre. Una obra
compuesta por los 15 dibujos que forman la serie, un libro de estudios y un estuche artesanal, realizado en tela de arpillera, que
alberga la obra.
La Sèrie negre, que en 2017 conmemora su 50.º aniversario, consta de 15 dibujos en los que predomina el color negro, un conjunto
de obras relacionadas entre sí a través de un sutil juego de repeticiones y diferencias.
El libro de estudios, en edición bilingüe (español e inglés), cuenta con cuantioso material gráfico de la vida y obra del artista y presenta
textos inéditos del galerista y escritor Antoni Tàpies Barba, hijo del artista. Una edición limitada de 998 ejemplares en numeración
arábiga, más otros 298 ejemplares en numeración romana.

format publications forms part of a numbered, limited edition series that features an exclusive design inspired or designed by the
artists themselves.
among the works that artika will be presenting at aRCOmadrid 2017 is one of its most eagerly awaited, new publications: Antoni
Tàpies. Sèrie Negre. This is a work comprised of the 15 illustrations that make up the series, in addition to a study book and a
handcrafted box, lined with burlap fabric, which contains the work.
The Sèrie negre (Black Series), which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2017, consists of 15 illustrations in which the predominant tone
is black; it is a series of works that are interrelated through a subtle play of repetitions and differences.
The study book, which is a bilingual edition (Spanish and English), includes a great deal of graphic material on the artist’s life and
work, and features previously unpublished texts by antoni Tàpies Barba, the gallery owner, writer and son of the artist. a limited
edition of 998 copies in arabic numerals, with a further 298 copies in Roman numerals.

BIENALSUR es la Bienal Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo de América del Sur, una plataforma trasnacional de desarrollo para la
convergencia de proyectos de arte contemporáneo que se incuba en el marco de la UNTREF.
Bajo la dirección general de Aníbal Jozami y con la dirección artístico-académica de Diana Wechsler, BIENALSUR crece construyendo
redes y promoviendo sistemas asociativos diversos con universidades e instituciones ligadas a las artes. Desde noviembre de 2015 y
bajo el lema Sur Global, esta plataforma convocó 11 encuentros internacionales de artistas, curadores, actores del campo y públicos
en los que poniendo en foco diversas problemáticas del mundo contemporáneo se presentaron proyectos artísticos y culturales.
Participaron de los encuentros 116 invitados internacionales. Se abrieron al público problemáticas diversas y se identificaron posibles
temas y agendas de acción.
Convocamos dos open calls para artistas y curadores: se recibieron 2543 proyectos de 78 países diferentes que son evaluadas por el
consejo internacional de consultores de BIENALSUR y los directores.
A lo largo de 2017 se continuará con las acciones Bienalsur, encuentros en los que se da visibilidad a los procesos de exploración,
preproducción y producción de los proyectos artísticos y de articulación socio-cultural. De septiembre a diciembre tendrán lugar de
manera simultánea las Exposiciones Bienalsur: proyectos específicos, los ensayos curatoriales seleccionados, y dos líneas de trabajo-
exhibición desarrolladas por el equipo BIENALSUR bajo el concepto de Colección de Colecciones y archivo de archivos.
BIENALSUR es un proyecto trasnacional y multipolar que tiene como epicentro Buenos Aires y se expande con acciones y
exposiciones, en paralelo, en numerosos lugares de Sudamérica y de otros continentes.
BIENalSUR is the International Biennial of Contemporary art in South america, a transnational development platform for the
convergence of contemporary art projects which is incubated within the framework of UNTREF.
Under the general direction of aníbal Jozami, and the artistic and academic direction of Diana Wechsler, BIENalSUR grows by building
networks and promoting diverse associative systems with universities and institutions related to the arts. Since November 2015,
and under the theme of Global South, this platform has convened 11 international meetings of artists, curators, cultural organizers,
critics, collectors and audiences in which a focus was placed on various problems in the contemporary art world, presented by artistic
and cultural projects. 116 international guests participated in this encounters. Various problems were open to the public, as well as
identifying possible convergent themes and agendas for action.
Two open calls for artists and curators were awarded. Of these two call outs, 2543 projects were received from 78 different countries,
which were evaluated by the board of trustees of BIENalSUR and its artistic directors.
Throughout 2017, Bienalsur Actions will be continued, meetings in which the processes of exploration, pre-production and production
of artistic projects, and socio-cultural interaction are given visibility. From September to December, the Bienalsur Exhibitions will be
held in succession, and concurrently, with the specific projects and curatorial trials selected from the call outs made as well as two
work-exhibition lines developed by the BIENalSUR team under two concepts: firstly, the Collection of Collections, and secondly, the
Archiving of Archives.
BIENalSUR is a transnational and multipolar project that has Buenos aires as its epicenter, and expands with actions and exhibitions,
in parallel, in many places in South america and other continents.
