Dr.ZiningYangisSeniorManageratSouthernCaliforniaEdison.Shealsoworks
as Clinical Professor at Claremont Graduate University and Associate Director
at the TransResearch Consortium. She sits on the Board of the Computational
SocialScienceSocietyoftheAmericas(CSSSA),andservesasScientificAdvisory
Board Member for Human Factors and Simulations. Dr. Yang received her Ph.D.
in Computational and Applied Mathematics and Political Economy from Clare-
mont Graduate University in 2015. Her research interests include Data Analytics,
MachineLearning,ModelingandSimulation,ComplexAdaptiveSystems,Agent-
BasedModels,andNetworkAnalysis.Dr.Yanghasbeenpublishednumeroustimes
inthefieldsofComputerScience,Economics,PublicPolicy,andPoliticalScience.
Shehasbeenidentifiedasanoutstandingresearcherbythegovernment,workedon
a National Science Foundation-sponsored project, and won multiple awards from
variousorganizations,includingtheMinistryofEducationofthePeople’sRepublic
ofChina;InternationalSocialComputing,BehavioralModelingandPrediction;and
theInternationalInstituteofInformaticsandSystemics.
Dr.ElizabethvonBriesen isanAssistantProfessorofComputerScienceatElon
University,andisamemberoftheboardoftheComputationalSocialScienceSociety
oftheAmericas.ShereceivedherPh.D.inComputing&InformaticsfromtheUniver-
sity of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2020. Her research interests are focused on
thestudyofcomplexadaptivesystemsusingcomputationaltechniques,particularly
with respect to social systems experiencing identity-based conflict. She primarily
workswithagent-basedmodels,andperformsdataminingandsentimentanalysisto
informthosesimulations.Finally,inhercurrentposition,Dr.vonBriesenstrivesto
contributetowardanevolvingundergraduatecomputerscienceexperiencethrough
research,service,andhigh-quality,innovativeteaching.
