his book was made possible through the love, prayers and support of
many special friends. First of all, I want to thank the Lord for
helping me do something I thought was impossible for me—writing this
book!
The Lord used some very special human vessels to teach me how to
write Possessing the Gates of the Enemy. Peter Wagner has been my
mentor. I really do not think this book would have been written without
his wisdom and advice. Doris Wagner, my good friend, has always been
there to offer practical advice as well as being my friend on the
battlefield.
Of course, my husband, Mike, has been a great encouragement to me.
When I felt I couldn't make it through with this assignment he would sit
down and pray and talk with me, and offer great wisdom. We have often
teased about other writers who thank their families in their
acknowledgments for the meals missed. (Mike, are you reading this?)
Also, Mary and Daniel, my children, are to be commended for loving
their mom through the writing of this book. They are some of my best
prayer partners and have often encouraged me not to give up.
My mom, Eleanor Lindsey, has faithfully typed the manuscript and
spent hours reading and editing. Thank you, Mom! You went above and
beyond the call of duty. Also, thanks to Thomas Lindsey for his
proofreading.

Becky Wagner deserves a special thanks for entering the manuscript
into the computer. Her gentleness in her task as my administrative
assistant is indeed Christlike.
I cannot adequately express my gratitude to the prayer partners of
Generals of Intercession who have fasted, prayed and loved me as I
poured out my needs in our prayer letter for this book. Also, thanks to the
church groups who have set aside time to pray each week that I will meet
the publishing deadline.
Jane Campbell, editor of Chosen Books, has given a listening ear to
me when I reached times of enormous frustration. Writing a book without
any training has created a huge learning curve for me. She patiently
answered my many questions.

church where rarely a Sunday went by that someone did not say to me,
