To M. Gilbert Conoley, my dad,
who taught me my first lesson in positive psychology.
Additionally:
In the early 1960s he created a Community Action Agency for two counties in
Texas providing Head Start Centers, Family Planning Centers, Neighborhood,
Youth, and Job Training Centers. In the late 1960s, he headed a multicultural
teamthatdesegregatedthepublicschoolsofTexas.Noneofthesemovementswere
popular or easy, but he enjoyed them and he loved us.
