About the Editors
Mohammad Aneesul Mehmood, PhD, special
izes in limnology and environmental toxicology.
He has been teaching graduate and postgraduate
students for the past two years in the Department
of Environmental Science, School of Sciences,
Sri Pratap College Campus, Cluster University
Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. He has been
supervising many students for their MSc projects.
In addition, he has published a number of papers
in international journals of repute and a number of
books with international publishers. He completed his doctorate from the
Division of Environmental Science, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricul
tural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir, with a meritorious certificate from
the university. He received the Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad Khan Gold Medal and
the Shri Bhushan Memorial Gold Medal during his master’s program. He
has qualified various national competitive tests in the discipline of environ
mental science. He was also awarded with an INSPIRE Merit Fellowship
(JRF & SRF) by the Department of Science and Technology, GoI, during his
doctoral program.
Khalid Rehman Hakeem, PhD, is Professor
at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi
Arabia. After completing his doctorate (Botany;
specialization in Plant Eco-physiology and
Molecular Biology) from Jamia Hamdard,
New Delhi, India, he worked as a lecturer at
the University of Kashmir, Srinagar, India. At
Universiti Putra Malaysia, Selangor, Malaysia,
he was a Postdoctorate Fellow and Fellow
Researcher (Associate Professor) for several
years. Dr. Hakeem has more than 10 years of
teaching and research experience in plant eco-physiology, biotechnology
and molecular biology, medicinal plant research, plant-microbe-soil inter
actions, as well as in environmental studies. He is the recipient of several

fellowships at both national and international levels. He has served as a
visiting scientist at Jinan University, Guangzhou, China. Currently, he is
involved with a number of international research projects with different
government organizations. To date, Dr. Hakeem has authored and edited
more than 35 books with international publishers. He also has to his credit
more than 80 research publications in peer-reviewed international journals
and 55 book chapters in edited volumes with international publishers. At
present, Dr. Hakeem serves as an editorial board member and reviewer for
several high-impact international scientific journals. He is included in the
advisory board of Cambridge Scholars Publishing, UK. He is also a fellow
of the Plantae group of the American Society of Plant Biologists, member
of the World Academy of Sciences, member of the International Society for
Development and Sustainability, Japan, and member of the Asian Federation
of Biotechnology, Korea.
Rouf Ahmad Bhat, PhD, is Assistant
Professor at Cluster University Srinagar
(Jammu and Kashmir), India, and special
izes in limnology, toxicology, phytochem
istry, and phytoremediation. Dr. Bhat has
been teaching graduate and postgraduate
students of environmental sciences for the
past two years. He is an author of more than
54 scientific articles and 15 book chapters,
and has published more than10 books with
international publishers. He has presented
and participated in numerous state, national and international conferences,
seminars, workshops, and symposiums. Dr. Bhat has worked as an associate
Environmental Expert in the World Bank-funded Flood Recovery Project
and also as Environmental Support Staff on Asian Development Bank-
funded development projects. He has received many awards, appreciations,
and recognitions for his services to the science of water testing and air and
noise analysis. He has served as an editorial board member and reviewer of
reputed international journals. Dr. Bhat is writing and experimenting with
diverse capacities of plants for use in aquatic pollution.

Gowhar Hamid Dar, PhD, is an Assistant
Professor in Environmental Science, Sri
Pratap College, Cluster University Srinagar,
Department of Higher Education (Jammu and
Kashmir), India, where he has been teaching
for many years. He has a PhD in Environmental
Science with a specialization in Environ
mental Microbiology (fish microbiology, fish
pathology, industrial microbiology, taxonomy
and limnology). He has published more
than 40 papers in international journals of repute and a number of books
with international publishers. He is guiding a number of students for their
master’s theses. He has been working on the isolation, identification and
characterization of microbes, their pathogenic behavior, and impact of pollu
tion on development of diseases in fish fauna for the last several years. He
has received many awards and appreciations for his services toward science
and development. In addition, he also acts as a member of various research
and academic committees.
