This study examined the application of a tutorial model in a distance education program for elementary school teachers and its impact on their science teaching abilities. The tutorial model consisted of 6 steps: 1) watching video recordings of science lessons, 2) discussing the videos, 3) developing lesson plans, 4) peer teaching simulations, 5) enrichment activities, and 6) doing real teaching in elementary schools. The study involved 19 teachers in a distance education program. Results showed that using video recordings, modules, and this tutorial strategy improved teachers' ability to develop lesson plans and teach science through inquiry-based learning.
