PREFACE

1. Pay and Allowances Regulations, Volume II is issued under the authority of the Federal
Government. From the date of publication of these regulations, Pay and allowances
Regulations Volume II 1982 shall be deemed to have been superseded except as provided for
anywhere in these regulations. This edition has been, brought up-to-date by incorporating all
amendments effected upto 31 May 1997.

2, A table of concordance has been reproduced at the end of this volume. It shows the
rules in this edition. the corresponding provisions in 'the superseded editions and other
references on which the revised edition is based.

3. These regulations shall be applied reasonably, and with due regard to the interests of the
