Importance of Parent Ambassadors
“EducatingforLife!”
• Bishop Larry Silva spearheaded the program in the Hawaii Catholic
Schools
• Sister Davilyn and the School Board appointed the PTSA Executive
Board to be the lead in the Parent Ambassador Program
• Many Catholic schools are struggling financially because of less than
optimal enrollment.
• This program uses the most effective agents for recruitment: Parents of
students who attend Catholic schools
• Parent Ambassadors will speak to other parents about how OLPH is the
best school to send their children to.
Importance of Parent Ambassadors

• Schools must be proactive in recruiting, motivating, training and
supporting parent ambassadors.
• This program is intended to assist schools in this very important
endeavor:
• Renewing Our Commitment to Catholic Schools
• Strengthening the Catholic Identity and Mission of Catholic Schools
• Creating teams to assist in school needs (IT, Fine Arts, etc…)
