Hij verzint daarom allemaal leugentjes om toch maar bij de groep te horen. Zeer herkenbaar thema voor pre-pubers en pubers, die vaak vinden dat ouders vooral niet mogen opvallen. Het verhaal heeft een realistisch einde. Duidelijke bladspiegel, zwartwitillustraties, wisselend van grootte, die prima bij het verhaal passen.
