Abstract Two species ofthe genus Chan2anthedon Le Cerg 1916, namely C: melanoptera Le
CerC 1927 and (: aurigera (Bry k1,947) are noted from Vietnam. The latte srpecies is recorded
from Vietnam and Thailand fbr the firs ttime. Descriptions and illustTation sof female
Chamanthedon, includin gthe genitalia ,are presented for the fir stLime. A new species, C:
bicinct sap. nov. i sdescribe dand figure dfrom Myanmar.

Recently ,we have publishe da redescription of this genus ,with a brje fdiscussio nof its
compositjon and distributi o(nArit &a Gorbunov, 1998). Since that time, some additional
material ofthe genus has been collected. Herein, we describe a new species, ( bicinct sap,
nov., frem Myanmar. Besides that, two species ofthe genus, namely C melanoptera Le Ceif;
1927 and (] :auzCgera (Bry k1,947) are noted from Vietnam, The latte rone is recorded from
Vietnam and Thailand fbr the fir sttime, We describ eand illustra tethe female sex of
enamanthedbn ,includi ntghe genitali af,b rthe firs ttime. As one can see from the pictures
below (Fig s7-9) ,the genitali oaf Cl aungera distinc tdliyif efrrom those oftwo other species,
noted herein .It is possible ,that C auEigera is a representative of another, yet undescribed
genus ofOsminiini. Unfortunatel yw,e cannot solve thi sproblem now because males ofthis
species remain unknown.

Ditferentia ldiagnosi s.By the coloration of the abdomen, this new species seems to be closest
to C: aloicincta Hampson, 1919, but it can be easily separated by the coloration ofthe frons
(whit leateral liyn aloicincta), labia lpalpus (mi djoin wthite ventrally in the species compar-
ed), disca lspot and apical area of the fbrewing (disc sapelt with yellow-orang secales distatly;
apical area between veins R,-M, densel ymixed with yellow-orange soales in aloicincta).
Additionall y,they are clearly distinguishab lbey the shape of the outer margin of the
hindwing (extreme lnayrrow in athieincta). From C hypachroma Le Cerf ;1916 and C
quinquecinet (aHampso n1,893) ,this new species can be readily distinguish ebdy the colera-
tion of the abdomen (a tleas tbasal two tergite sof the abdomen each with a broad yellow-
orange stripe distal liyn these species compared), by the shape of the external transparent area
ofthe fbrewing (vers bursoader ,somewhat broader than disca lspot in these species compared)
and shape of the outer margin of the hindwing (extrem enalrryow in these species compared).
From C melanopteiu Le Cerf ;1927 ,C bicinc tspa. nov. clearly diffe rbsy the coloration of
various part softhe body, structure ofwings and the female genitali (aop F,ig. S with Figs 1-

Bionomics. The host plant is unknown. Moths were collected in April and July . It is
possibl ethis species has two generation sper a year.
Habitat , Borders of tropical rain forests.
Distribution . This species has been known from the type localit yin Myanmar only. We
record it from Vietnam and Thailand for the fir sttime.

ベ トナム お よびそ の 近隣地域の Chamanthedon 属 （鱗翅 目，ス カ シ バ ガ 科）の 知見 （有 田
豊 ・Oleg G ． Gorbunov ）
ス カ シバ ガ科 Chamanthedo nmaの C．〃melanoptera Le Cerf，1927と C．α厩gθ毋 （Bryk， 1947）の 2種をベ
トナムか ら記録した．C． aurigera はベ トナム とタイか ら最初の記録である． Chamanthedon UZの雌は
今まで未知であっ た．C bicinct sap ． nov ．を ミャ ンマ ーから記載 した．

Chamanthedon melan 〔）ptera Le Cerf，1927（Figs l 4，7）
北ペ トナム か らホ ロ タイプ の 1 ♂ の みが 知 られて い た．今回，北ベ トナム の タム ダオ （2 ♂ 6 ♀，
930− 1，230m ）とサバ （1 ♀， L400 m ）の 2ヶ所か ら記録した． Figs 1−4 に見られるよ うに， 前後翅の
色彩や腹部の 黄色の 帯に は変異がある．
C乃amanthedon bicinet sap ． nov ．（Figs 5，8）
ミャ ンマ ーか ら新種 として記載 した本種 は，腹部 の色彩などが C athicincta Hampson ，1919に良く似
てい るが，頭部の色彩や前翅の横脈紋前縁部分の色彩が異なる．
Chamanthedon aurigera （Bryk，1947）（Figs 6，9）
この 種は雌ゲニ タ リアが図示 （Fig．9）した よ うに他の 2種類と大変異な る． Osminiini 族の他の属で
あるの は確かで あるが，雄を調査するまで この 属に所属させてお く．
