Installing DSS Player Pro
DSSPlayerProismadeupof twosections-aDictationModuleandaTranscriptionModule.You
needtoenterthelicenseIDthatissuppliedwiththeproductduringinstallationtorunthissoftware.
Notes
-Ifyouintendtousespeechrecognitionsoftware,itmustbeinstalledfirst.Forinstructionson
installingthespeechrecognitionsoftware,refertotheuser'sguidesuppliedwiththespeech
recognitionsoftware.
-IfyouarerunningWindowsNT4.0/2000/XPonanetwork,youneedtologinasanadministrator
oruseausernamethathasadministrator’srights.
1 InserttheDSSPlayerProCD-ROMintotheCD-ROMdrive.
Theinstallerlaunchesautomatically.
Note
Iftheinstallerdoesnotlaunchautomatically,follow thesesteps.
ItisassumedthattheCD-ROMdriveisassigneddriveletterD.

YoumustaccepttheLicenseTermstoinstall DSSPlayerPro.If youaccept,click"Yes."
5 SelectwheretoinstallDSSPlayerPro.
Specifythefolderinwhichtoinstall DSSPlayerPro.Click"Browse"tochangetheinstallation
folder.Tousethedefaultfolder,click"Next."

Iftheinstallationfolderdoesnotexist,afoldercreationconfirmationdialogboxopens.Click
"Yes."
6 Selectaprogrammenufolder.
Youmaychangetheprogram menufoldertoanotherone,suchas"StartUp".Tousethedefault
folder,click"Next."
7 Confirmthestartoffilecopying.
Confirm all "CurrentSettings."Toacceptthem,click"Next."

PC.

9 Copyfiles.
Waituntil DSSPlayerProisinstalledonyourPC.

WhentheAcrobatReaderSetupdialogbox opens,click"Next."
12 SelectwheretoinstallAcrobatReader.
Specifythefolderinwhichtoinstall AcrobatReader.Tousethedefaultfolder,click"Next."
13 SetupStatus.
Waituntil AcrobatReaderisinstalledonyourPC.

4 Click"Add/Remove(inWindows2000,"Change/Remove")."
5 The"Modify,Repair,orRemovetheprogram"dialogboxopens.
MakesurethatRemoveisselectedandthenclick"Next."
6 Afiledeletionconfirmationdialogboxopens.Click"Yes"
7 Nowdeleting.
DSSPlayerProisbeingdeleted.Pleasewait.

Connecting the DS-3000 Digital Recorder
TheDS-3000workswithboththeDictationModuleandtheTranscriptionModule.

-MakesureyoufinishinstallingDSSPlayerProbeforeconnectingtheDS-3000.Ifyouconnect
theDS-3000beforeinstallingDSSPlayerPro,the"AddNew HardwareWizard"dialogboxwill
open.Ifthishappens,click"Cancel"toexitthewizardandinstallDSSPlayerPro( P.6).
-BeforeconnectingtheUSBcabletotheDS-3000,makesurethattheDS-3000isinthestop
mode,withitsrear-panelPOWER/LOCKswitchONandthattheHOLDswitchisnotsettothe
HOLDposition.
