RUNWAY 9C/27C – EAST PACKAGE
Scope of Work:
This project includes several airfield
improvement work areas on the north
airfield. Numerous other construction
projects will be occurring simultaneously
with this project which will require
various runway and taxiway short term
and extended closures. The Runway 9C-
27C East Package will include three (3)
separate construction phases and each
phase will have several construction
activities or work areas.

RUNWAY 9C/27C – PACKAGE 1
Scope of Work:
Construction of temporary and
permanent airfield pavements (PCC &
AC Shoulders), airfield lighting, signage,
grading drainage, site restoration, utility
infrastructure (power & communications)
and other incidental work. Work will be
phased to accommodate aircraft
operations and may require off peak
construction.

Construction of airfield pavements, PCC

work.

AIRLINE FACILITY RELOCATION PROJECTS
Scope of Work:
Relocation of hangars,
vehicle maintenance
and other Airline
facilities for Runway
9C/27C.

NORTH ARFF#2
Scope of Work:
Relocation of an Aircraft Rescue and
Firefighting (ARFF) station on the
Northeast side of the airfield. Structure
will be single story with a mechanical
mezzanine, with six vehicle apparatus
bays.

CENTRALIZED DEICING FACILITY PAVING AND UTILITIES
Scope of Work:
Construction of a new pavement area
dedicated to deicing aircraft during winter
operations, along with the ability to stage
aircraft during the balance of the year. This
project also includes the construction of two
parallel taxiways. Scope includes PCC
Pavement, airfield lighting and signage,
flood lighting, deicing fluid collection
systems, drainage, and other incidental
work.

CENTRALIZED DEICING FACILITY - RAMP TOWER
Scope of Work:
The ramp tower is required for the Airlines to
control and monitor the movement of planes
and the deicing operations being performed on
the new Central Deicing Facility at O'Hare.
The ramp tower is located to the west side of
the Central Deicing Facility . Work includes
site preparation, parking lot, ramp tower
foundation, ramp tower building, utility
infrastructure near the building and control
equipment for lighting, message boards,
cameras and radio frequency antennas.

EAST AIRFIELD LIGHTING CONTROL VAULT
Scope of Work:
Construction of a new airfield lighting
control vault (similar to the south vault)
housing the switchgear, ALSC and
regulators needed to power the airfield
lighting and signage for Runway 9C/27C,
Runway 9R/27L and associated taxiways.
Site for this facility will be adjacent to the
ARFF #2 on the north east of the airfield.
