Step #1: Plan Your Work And Work
Your Plan
You must first understand that in order to succeed, you must be prepared to
change your mindset and take responsibility for your own success.
This applies to EVERY area of marketing, business and life, including affiliate
marketing.
Ewen, are you kidding?
Not at all my friend. This isn’t some hyped-up motivational speech but
recognizing the fact that success requires proper planning and hard work, will
help you achieve it sooner.
It’s your own game and no one is gonna play it for you.
Because when it comes down to it, everyone’s busy chasing after his or her own
goals, so take responsibility for yours!
Am I making sense?
It couldn’t be more relevant with affiliate marketing. In this competitive
market, almost every other marketer becomes your competitor when the stakes
are high.
So you have got to get the right frame of mind and attitude to rise to the top.
Some quick suggestions:
Believe you can do it.
Write down your goals and end results for a promotion.
Have a target.
Work out a plan to achieve the above.
Work your plan.

So how do you plan ahead?
What I’ll normally do is put my thoughts and ideas on paper so I’ll have a basic
guide to follow.
Here’s a sample of my Affiliate Action Sheet, which puts things into better
perspective. I do this for almost every major affiliate promotion. You can swipe it

As you can see, I try to get as much ideas in as possible. It doesn’t matter if it
looks ‘bad’ at first; tweak it as you go along. Doesn’t it all look clearer when you
write it now? Try it.
So take responsibility of your marketing. Be prepared to do some work. Plan your
work and work your plan!

Step #2: Multi Advertising Strategy
It’s important not to over-focus on one source of traffic.
What you should do for major promotions is to leverage on multi channels of
potential customers – at once.
Once again, if you peek into my Affiliate Action Sheet, you will realize that I do
not depend on one source for sales.
As the saying goes: Don’t put all your eggs into one basket.
Use various promotional vehicles to reach your destination.
My main advertising strategy for this promotion was to focus on THREE areas:
1. Own subscribers and customers
2. Pay per click search engines
3. Ezine ads
Let me repeat - drive visitors from different sources to meet the target
you’ve set.
But keep in mind the big picture and overall objective while you’re doing this, you
don’t want to get sidetracked. Plan and time everything to happen within the
promotion period as much as possible. This way you get a leveraged and
synergized effort.
For example, I also placed 20% of my target (or 10 sales) on using Pay Per
