REDL Abstract: F. FOHRINGER & K. REDL discribe a new hybrid of two Nigritella- species, which was first found in 1999 and again at Kniepssattel on the Petzen mountain (Eastern Karawanken) at the Austrian-Slovenian border. REDL (2002) Nigritella lithopolitanica RAVNIK X Nigritella rhellicani TEPPNER & KLEIN - Eine neue Hybride der Ost-Karawanken. Linzer biol. Beiträge 34/1: 787-791. Durch die verspätete Beibringung eines Herbarbeleges wurde im Jahre 2002 auf die lateinische Beschreibung verzichtet und keine Namensgebung vorgenommen. Beides wird nunmehr nachgeholt, nachdem im Februar 2004 der erforderliche Beleg erbracht wurde. Er ist unter Inv.Nr. 530203 im Herbarium des Biologiezentrums Linz (LI) hinterlegt. Nigritella x petzenensis FOHRINGER & REDL, hyb. nat. nov. H o 1 o t y p u s : Austria - Slovenia, montes Karawanken, in monte Petzen circa 2000 m altitudine, 12. VII. 1999; leg. F. FOHRINGER (LI: 530203). Herba altitudo 14(17,5) cm. Caulis: rigidus, angulos habens, viridis, foliosus ad summo. Folia 9-11, graminea, sulcata, inferiora ad rosettam confertim, superiora 4-5 bracteifor- mis. Inflorescentia densissima, primo cono similis, deinde ± globosa. Flores paulo maior quam speciei parentes. Color purpureus vel nigro-purpureus; flores inferiori plus rubescens cum colore caeruleo. Odor similis Vanillae. Bracteae angustae-lanceolatae, longitudo tamquam flores. Sepala et petala citius dilatata. Sepala ovata acuta vel latilanceolata, 6-8 mm longa, 1,8-2,5 mm lata. Petala latilanceolata vel angustilanceolata, 5-6 mm longa, 1,5-2,0 mm lata. Labellum supinum, ovatum-acutum, concavum, 6-9 mm longum, 5-7 mm latum, ad partem basalem coartatum. Calcar brevissimum, 1,5 mm longum, saccatum-obtusum. Floret inter finem VI et iduum VII.
