Female. Length10mm,widthabout3mm.Bodyrobust,moderatelyelongate
andnormallyconvexabove;surfaceshining,blackexcept forbasaltwo-thirdsofelytra
orange-yellow; antennaeblack and legs blackishbrown (tarsi more or less dusky
brown);vestitureblack,semidecumbent,fineonelytra.
Headgentlyconvexbetweeneyes;surfacedeeply,moderatelydenselyandevenly
punctate;clypea1marginwellridgedoverantennal insertions,moreor lessdepressed
andobtuselyangulateatmiddle.Antennarathershort,notattainingtoPosterioran9le
ofpronotum;basalsegmentrobustandsubovate,2ndsmallandsubg1obose,3rdsub-
conjca1,about16timesaslongas2nd,4thabout1.5timesaslongas3rcLfrom4thto

This new Species is somewhat allied to Ampedus (Ampedus) elegantulus
(SHONHERR,1817)f「omtheFarEastRussia,butcanbedistinguishedfromthelatterby
theta「9e「andStouterbody,trapezoidalpronotumandmoredeeplyandcoarselypunc_
tate-St「iae on the elytra. Also, somewhat resembles in genera1 outljne Ampedus
(PSet,ldelate「)nlPOnlcus(LEWIS,1894)fromJapan,butcanbedistjngujshedfromthe
latte「bytheShapeofthe3rdsegmentofantennae(Fig.1,B↑ )andtheblackpatterns
ofapicalportionoftheelytra(Fig.1,C).

Male. Length10-11mm, widthabout3.7-4mm. Body robust and oblong-
ovate;blackandshiningexcept forsomeportionsofanteriorandposterioranglesof
pronotum, areasofprosterno-pleura1sutures,presternal lobeand7thstemiteofab-
domenmoreorlessduskybrown;antennaeblackishbrownexceptfor2ndand3rdseg-
mentsdull brown; vestiturefineandsubdecumbent,blackishbrownondorsum,de-
cumbentandpaleyellowonventralsurfaces.
This new subspecies can be distinguished from subsp. H motschulskyi aizu
KlsHll,1994 fromthenorthernmountainareasofTochigiPrefecture,butcanbedistin-
guished fromthelatterbythesubquadratepronotum,withthediscofpronotumfinely
andsparselypunctate(Fig 2,C).Hindanglesofpronotumclearlyprojectedposteriad,
eachwithadistinctcarinaabovealonglateralmargin(Fig 2,E↑).Elytra1striaedis-
tinctlygroovedinbasalarea,withtheintervalsgentlyelevated, finelyandirregularly
rugose.Dorsalsurfaceofmalegenitaliaasillustrated(Fig 2,F).Presternalprocessin

要 約
大平仁夫:日本産コメツキムシ科の新種, xLvI. - 本報告では2亜科に所属する1新種1新
亜種を記載した.
Ampedus(Ampedus)kuriha・,al (ツシマツマグロコメツキ)は,栗原桂一氏が対馬の美津島町の
山林の朽木中より1頭の老熟幼虫を1992年9月13日に採集して飼育, 1994年4月1日に羽化成
虫を確認した. 体長は10mmで,一般外形はヨーロッパからシベリア地域に分布するA.(A)eel-
gantulusに類似しているが,前胸背板の外形や点刻の分布や上翅の条線や翅端部の黒斑の形状
などが相違している. また,日本に広く分布するA.(Pseudelate,)n,ponlcus (ツマグロコメツキ)
にも類似しているが, 本新種の触角は第4節から鋸歯状をしている.
Homotechnesmotsuchulskyisaitoul (フクシマミヤマヒサゴコメツキ)は, 福島市飯坂町の横川
林道や描 川周辺地域の低地帯で見出された大型の亜種である. 一般形態は栃木県との県境に
分布するHmaizu (アイズミヤマヒサゴコメツキ) に類似しているが, 前胸背板や雄交尾器な
どの形態に相違が見られたので, ここに新亜種として記載した.
