POWER - NEVILLE GODDARD - JULY 23, 1968
“Tonight’s subject is “Power.” I do not mean the power of Caesar. I’m speaking
tonight of the power of God. For here in this world of Caesar, I think all nations will
admit that this land of ours is by far the greatest power in the world of Caesar --
economic power, military power.” - Neville Goddard
Neville begins this lesson by helping you understand that
there are two kinds of power. One of those is very
limited, and the other knows no limits. Those are the
power of Caesar and the Power of God. It is vital to
identify during the course of your day, in which power
you are placing your hope, your faith and your focus.
Because, the more you move your focus and faith into the
power of God, which is your own wonderful human
IMAGINATION - the more powerful your intentions and
imagining becomes.
TAKE AWAY: When you notice that you have placed your
faith in the physical world - the world of Caesar, don’t
bother having any regrets - just move it back to
remembering that all that happens in the physical - is
directed by the wonderful human imagination.
“And here we are against a 10th rate nation and find in our hands the longest war in
our history. We say we have an objective and that we have the means to achieve it,
but we are unwilling to use the means that we have. Well, then modify the objective
to fit the means that we are willing to use that belongs to the world of Caesar. If we
do not modify the objective to fit the means we are going to use, well, then cut bait
and forget it and forget the so-called saving face.” - Neville Goddard
Saving face. Often when people find the works of Neville,
they have problems making them work effectively, because
they are AFRAID to be seen as foolish - they are focused
on saving face. They are unwilling to use the means they
have been given (to use the power of the imagination).
TAKE AWAY: You don’t have to tell ANYONE that you are
using imaginal power - the power of divinity - to change
your world. Keep this to yourself, so that you are
proving only to yourself, the wonderful power of your

human imagination.
“But I’m not speaking of that kind of a power. I’m speaking of the power of God
which is called in scripture, Jesus Christ. Paul defines Christ as the power of God and
the wisdom of God. Here, we find wisdom and power exalted and personalized as
God’s companion in the creation of the world. That power is your own wonderful
human imagination. That’s the power of God. That is Christ, as far as I’m concerned,
that is Jesus Christ of the scriptures.” - Neville Goddard
This is a core belief of Neville’s. Having this kind of
belief system, seems to make using his methods much, much
easier.
TAKE AWAY: Notice your belief system. If you are like me,
you were raised to believe that you are separate from
God. Jesus said, that we will perform miracles - greater
than these. He also said that we are sons of God, and
that the kingdom is within. When you are living from the
knowing that you can not be separated from God - the
wisdom and the power -you will start living from,
thinking from and responding from this Wisdom and Power -
the true you, and all illusions of weakness and ignorance
will pass away.
“Now, tonight, we’re talking just about this power. The earliest Gospel is Mark. And
the first words we find on the lips of this power. The time is fulfilled and the
Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel.” - Neville Goddard
What if you could eliminate the #1 emotional state that
blocks your blessing instantly? Neville invites you to do
just that, by eliminating GUILT from your life. Guilt
blocks your blessing by distracting you from from fully
feeling your ideal as real.
TAKE AWAY: The key is to understand and remember during
every moment of the day, the real meaning of REPENT, and
to embrace the Gospel - which tells us that this is “Good
News”.
“Now, the word “repent,” as we use in the world, is not what scripture means. When
they use it here, we mean to feel remorse, regret, that has not a thing to do with the

word “repent.” It’s the Greek metanoia. A radical -- but radical change of attitude. A
radical change of mind. Can I see an objective and, then everything tells me that blind
can’t realize it? Or do I have the power to realize that objective?” - Neville Goddard
To repent is to have a radical change in attitude - in
thinking - in focus. The primary step in repentance is to
turn your back on the world of appearances - the world of
senses - and to know that what you imagine will become
physical because of the power of your IMAGINATION.
TAKE AWAY: This becomes easy, when you realize how little
you actually sense in the physical world. Think about
this for just a moment, your eyes and ears are just
inches apart, and most people are under 6 foot from tippy
toes to the top of their head - so our sensory data is
very limited. And our imaginanal power is unlimited.
Everything around you - including your computer, your
home, your car - was once only imagined - and it is now
created - manifest.
“I tell you we have. We have the power. But what is the deeper meaning of power, but
effectiveness in achieving one’s purpose in life? That’s why I have a purpose. Do I
have the power? I tell everyone, yes. You could imagine the end, can’t you? Can you
imagine what would it be like if it were true? Can you feel what it would be like if it
were true?” - Neville Goddard
Neville brings together two very powerful steps to take
in this paragraph. They can be summed up with two
questions. “What is your purpose?” “Can you fully feel
it?”
TAKE AWAY: When you are totally clear about your purpose
- your passion - you can’t help but feel it. Take your
time daily and do your FEEL IT REAL sessions - and
develop clarity around your vision - until you fully feel
it real. This is the way you begin to recreate your
world, change your circumstance, transform your life.
“Well then, that’s the power. Now, can you be persistent in it? Can you remain
faithful to that end as though it were true? Now, I don’t care what the objective is.
You have the power to achieve it if you know this power is the power of Christ. For

all things are possible to Him.” - Neville Goddard
Do you FULLY realize that the power of you - the power of
your imagination - is the power of Christ? The kingdom of
God is within. The kingdom of God is you. The more you
accept this -the more power and wisdom you will express
and be in your world because you won’t be suffering with
fear and trauma of separation.
TAKE AWAY: Notice how these thoughts make you feel. If
you feel any upset, odds are there is some part of you
that is still reacting to old programming that says that
you can’t possibly be a son of God, or that the kingdom
of God is within you. Use your Feel It Real sessions to
address that first, before using them to manifest change
in your circumstances. Imagine the ideal you, who is 100%
comfortable with knowing the truth about you. You are a
son of God. The kingdom of God is within. And things
greater than these you will do.
“He’s personified in scripture. Let us go back and see how they first personify him.
You’ll read it in the 8th Chapter of the book of Proverbs. The 22nd verse through to
the end, to the 36th verse and these are the words, “God possessed me in the
beginning of His way, the very first of His acts of old.” One translation has it, “He
created me,” but that’s not a good translation. I can’t say I create my capacity to
think; I can develop it. But it was with me in the beginning. I can’t say that I created
my capacity to imagine; it was with me. I may not imagine correctly, but it was with
me.” - Neville Goddard
Accept the power and the wisdom you are. Take the time
daily to develop what was with you from the beginning -
your consciousness - your imagination. Your Feel It Real
sessions are perhaps the most important activity you can
take daily - so invest the time and do them, like Neville
did, on a daily basis.
TAKE AWAY: Neville says you can develop your capacity.
Take time every day to develop your capacity to imagine
GREATNESS in your life. Every day you will grow stronger
and stronger when you practice. And every success you
have, no matter how big or small, multiplies your faith,

“So, God possessed me in the beginning of His way, the very first of His acts of old.
Before He brought forth the universe, before He laid out the foundations of the earth,
I was beside Him like a little child. I was daily His delight, rejoicing before Him
always, delighting in His inhabited world.” - Neville Goddard
Be as a little child. Be delightful. Rejoice. If you find
yourself in any other state of mind, STOP. Remember the
feeling of delight, the feeling of joy, and focus your
mind and attention on what you choose to bring forth into
the world of appearances. Be joy. Be health. Be
abundance.
TAKE AWAY: The most natural states - and those that
contain the most energy, are those related to love, peace
and joy. Abandon anger. Abandon fear. Abandon desperation
as soon as you notice them, and embrace the states of the
little child.
“Now, my sons, listen to me. He who finds me, finds life and obtains favor from the
Lord. But he who misses me, injures himself. All who hate me, love death. You read
these words in the 8th of Proverbs. Here He is personalized as the little child. God’s
companion in the creation of the world. When you read it, it doesn’t make sense.”
Neville is talking about the IMAGINATION here. When you
find your imagination, and use it with INTENTION, you
will “obtain favor from the Lord”. If you “miss your
imagination”, by placing the power of creation outside of
your imagination - you will be victimizing -injuring
yourself.
TAKE AWAY: Putting cause in the physical world - the
world of appearances leads to frustration and suffering.
It feels like death. Have as your first AIM, a new you
living more and more in the powerful states of Peace,
Love and Joy. Then, once you feel that fully, manifest
change in your circumstances. If you try to force change
in circumstances first, because you think a change in
circumstances will bring you peace and joy - you are
putting power outside of you - outside of your
imagination. That is a cycle, a trap that is well worth

“But I tell you, from my own personal experience, having practiced the act of
repentance and having experienced the birth from above with the little child, I know
exactly what the prophet meant when he was inspired to write those words. One day,
you will encounter this creative power in you, personified as the little child. The
whole vast world has completely misunderstood it. I think it’s the little child wrapped
in swaddling clothes that was found by the shepherds 2,000 years ago.”
Neville shares what we call a Shamanic experience in this
paragraph - and in the next few. Notice how he makes the
biblical Christmas story - personal - and thus brings the
power and wisdom back home. In other lectures, he shares
details about this vision in particular. In this lesson,
he shares two shamanic episodes that you will be reading
about shortly.
TAKE AWAY: Neville always treats his shamanic, dream and
imaginary experiences as if they are 100% real. The
physical world is the world of illusion, Maya, the dream.
The physical world is the world of effect. The
imagination is the real world - of cause.
“That’s a sign of the birth in man, of the creative power of God. So, God is actually
bringing forth His creative power in man. And when it’s brought to birth in man, so
that man actually becomes part of the creative power of the universe. The sign of His
birth, the sign of His awareness of it is that of a little child.”
Watch little children, watch them play, watch them
explore their world. They are full of wonder and
curiosity. They lack guilt -until society teaches it to
them. Once you stop being “the judge” and feeling guilt -
you unleash “the creator” power within.
TAKE AWAY: You can make yourself - you can make God in
one of two images. The judge or the creator. Little
children don’t judge, they learn to do that as they get
older. When they learn how to judge, that is also when
they lose their endless supply of energy. Imagine
yourself as creator, and unleash the unlimited power and
energy back into your life again.

“So, here, I was like Him. I was beside Him like a little child when He brought forth
the universe. So, in everyone, in bringing me forth a thought of the creative power of
the universe, then the sign of my arriving, at that point, is symbolized in that of a
little child. When I find the child, I have found life. Now, I have life in myself. I am
no longer an animated body. I’m a life-giving spirit. If I miss it, I injure myself. All
who hate me, love death. Now, this world is the world of death. So, you tell the story
to the world, and the majority would rather have the building across the street, or this
building, something to them that is secure.” - Neville Goddard
Neville begins here, to help us understand that at
anytime, we can create or recreate what the world
considers riches - if we have discovered the power of the
human imagination.
TAKE AWAY: The master key is to remember, what you are.
You are consciousness, you are the imagination. You
aren’t the body, you are what gives life to the body. You
are the animating force, the loving consciousness, the
creative power. Time to start acting like that.
“And to know of a power, take the building away, destroy the building, but leave me
the power to recreate it. Don’t take from me the creative power, but take all the things
I create. But the world would rather have the things created than the power to create.
And so, those who hate me, they love death. They are in love with the whole vast
world that decays. For everything that is built today gradually fades. It comes into the
world. It waxes. It wanes and it vanishes. But leave me the power to bring anything
into this world and take from me, if you will, anything that I bring into the world. But
don’t take from me the creative power that I may actually create anything in this
world.” - Neville Goddard
So don’t focus on defending and protecting your earthly
treasures. They will naturally decay and fade. What is
eternal is the real you, which includes the power to
create - so focus on that - use it daily, use it with
love.
TAKE AWAY: There is nothing wrong with enjoying the
physical world pleasures, even though they decay. Just
accept that the physical comes and the physical goes. The
imagination and your consciousness is eternal, and is the
source of all of your enjoyment and your creative power.
