Preface
PREFACE
Since its inception in 2002, the Sree Narayana Gurukulam College of
Engineering (SNGCE) has been giving utmost importance to quality
education. Over the years, since it has earned the goodwill and
reputation among the stake holders, we felt the need to have a formal
introspection and assessment and accreditation by NAAC. This SSR is
the outcome of our sincere efforts containing authentic information
given strictly according to the guidelines of NAAC. The SSR consists of
three parts viz., Part I: Institutional data; Part II: Criteria-wise
Evaluation and Part III: Evaluation of Departments.
Sree Narayana Gurukulam College of Engineering is the dream project
of S.N.D.P Yogam, Kunnathunadu Union, head quartered at
Perumbavoor. The institution was initiated by Sree Narayana
Gurukulam Trust, a registered charitable trust formed by a group of
visionaries, with an aim to uphold the ideals of Sree Narayana Guru
(1855-1928), the great sage and social reformer who is considered as
the leader of Kerala’s reformation movement. SNGCE has traversed a
long way to the present, since its inception. It has assumed multiple
dimensions, both in the sphere of academics, as well as in
infrastructure facilities. This was possible due to far sighted vision of
the management, the eminent and dedicated faculty and studious and
diligent students. We are continuously observing the developments
happening in the real field internationally and always prepared for
continuous improvement. Understandably, we are committed to the
core values of NAAC. Preparation of the SSR has been a stupendous
task demanding the whole-hearted as well as full and complete
commitment and co-operation of all stakeholders.
I, Kemthose P Paul, Head of the Management Studies and Co-
ordinator of the Steering Committee, will be failing in my duty, if I do
not acknowledge the services rendered by others in preparing this
document. First of all, I express my thanks and gratitude to the
Management led by Sri. K. K. Karnan (President, SNG Trust) Adv. T A
Vijayan (Secretary, SNG Trust), and Shri. M. A. Raju (Executive
Director, SNGCE) for the absolute support and encouragement given
by them for this Endeavour. I thank our Principal, Dr.Saji C.B who
has been a mainstay to all of us. I also thank Dr. C. E Krishnan,
Director SNGCE who had contributed extensively for shaping the SSR
in this form.
A number of members of faculty and others had cooperated with me
in preparing the SSR. But, the outstanding services rendered by Mr.
Arun Mohan, Assoc. Prof (ME), Mr. Vinod Kumar E, Assoc. Prof. (ME),
Ms. Jayashree K S, Assoc. Prof. (ME), Ms. Preetha Prabhakaran,
