Preface
The2012InternationalConferenceonMultimediaandSignalProcessing(CMSP
2012)was held in Shanghai, China during December 7–9,2012. CMSP 2012 re-
ceived328submissionsfrom10countriesandregions.Afterrigorousreviews,79
high-qualitypaperswereselectedforpublicationintheCMSP2012proceedings.
Theacceptanceratewas24.08%.
The aim of CMSP 2012 was to bring together researchers working in many
different areas of multimedia, image, video and signal processing to foster the
exchange of new ideas and promote international collaboration. In addition to
the large number of submitted papers, there were several internationally well-
known keynote speakers.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we thank Shanghai University of
