Class of 2017:
Theodor Seuss Geisel said, "Don't cry because it is over. Smile because it happened." There is not a more fitting
quotation to describe the time that the class of 2017 spent at Mount Saint Joseph Academy. You are a very speci~ ~las8
my dear graduates, for many reasons.You are a talented and smart class. You are a faith-filled class. You are a spmted
class. You are a funny class. You are a beloved class. For all of the~e reasons, you will be misse. d.

You are a very talented ~d smart class. There are so many of you that have accomplfshed so many di_fferent and
incredible achievements. In your four years at MSJ, your class has brought home to 127 Convent Avenue three State
Championships, a Verinont Business Entrepreneur of the year, a State High School Reisman winner, a Student of the
Quarter, an award-winning actor and stage manager, countlesi!; amazing performances ih quarterfinal and semi-final
games for many' different sports, two Cross Country MVL champidnships, four trophies from the John:W erner
Tournament and countless Honor Roll and High Honor Roll recognitions. These achievements speak volumes about
each and evety one of you and what you are capable -of achieving in your future.
You are a faith-fillea class. Your class-is ~~ry sphlttial. This is obviou~ in the way in which y~u practiced your faith
daily in chapel. You've held strong t~ yout religious beliefs; and you've spread the good news in word and ~n: deed.
Many of you have lead the Campus Ministry program over the past four years, preparing for Masses, hos~ed retreats,
raising money for special causes, and_donating your time and energy to the ·community in countless ways. You have rol
modeled for those around you to not only listen. tp the word of Christ but to also live _it in the way in which you treat
each other and those in the greater co!1Jinunity. For this you are all to be commended. · - . , ·
The Class of 2017 is a spirited class. y OU have shown this-again and again as ·you could be found clad in green and
white, cheering on your peers at Saint Peter's Field, Abatiell Field~ in-the Marty·McDonough Gymnasium, at cheering
events, away games, and more. Your spirit has been felt in the hrulways when decorating for Halloween or during
Christmas when lockers were covered with Christmas themes to spread the joy of the holiday. Your spirit was evident
during Project Help as you planned· and executed the many tasks necessary to make the project a success, providing
Christmas dinner to hundreds of members of our community in need. This spirit has been such a wonderful component
to your class_a s a whole. ~ · ~ .. · ' .
You are a funny class.' You could always be co~nted on to bring a smile and a ,laugh to those aro~nd you. Whe~her it is
the silly names you have 'for each other, your hilarious interactions or the jokes you tell, it has been enjoyable to see yo
all bring joy to those aroµnd you. -
Most of all my-dear graduat~s .. you are a beloved-class. Your teachers, coaches, directors and the underclassmen speak
highly of each and ev~ry one of you. You have meant so much to so many in our community. MSJ will truly not be the
same without you. y.1 e all look fqrward to the many successes that are sure to come to you all -as you ,venture ouf into d
world; you will sur'ely make the same impression out there that you did here in your time at MSJ ... Please be sure to vis
