Our lives are a puzzle, a mystery, and we try to find out where we fit in the
grand scheme of things. We do not know what pieces will fit when we begin
this great and often daunting puzzle and, as undergraduates, we have only
completed part of our picture.
Our puzzle started when we arrived at Regis. We asked ourselves, "What are
we doing here? How will we ever get through college?" We met our friends,
our professors, administrators, and staff. They became our puzzle pieces and
have helped us figure out the Regis puzzle.
As our Regis puzzle is completed, we can look back on this portion of the
whole picture. Wliat will we do now? Where do wego from here?
As we prepare to graduate, our puzzle is just coming together - we have put
some of the pieces together, perhaps only for a time, perhaps permanently. The
permanent pieces have given our picture a definite shape. Those pieces that fit
temporarily will change our picture. Our puzzle is ever-changing, ever in
motion.
One puzzle has unfolded
before us. Another is about to
begin and we will continue to
make our way through "the
unfolding puzzle of life."
Dear Class of 2006,
Puzzles and Mysteries
Human beings love puzzles. From time
immemorial, riddles, rhymes, runes, and optical
illusions have fascinated anci entertained us. How
many families and friends find a new bond around the
huge picture puzzle spread out on thecoffee table?
What delight anagrams, puns, mazes, and crosswords
bring - as longas wecan figure them out! Along with
the seemingly infinite series ofcombinations that binary
logic supports in computer systems, our world today
places great faith in the problem-solving model of
thought. "Either-or" and "Yes or No" sustain
engineering marvels as well as political solutions to
global warming or war orfree trade.
Your education at Regis College has sharpened your ability to enter into the magic
of ready problem solving. Even working through the layout of a yearbook is a kind of
puzzle in which the yearbook committee wants to fit all the pieces. Whether or not to
become a co-educational institution is a riddle the College itself wants to answer. And,
from a broader perspective, that inquiry is but a piece of an even larger puzzle.
Like a chessboard in motion, our whole region is involved in the changing
demographics of generations, races, cultures, parishes, schools, neighborhoods and
corporations. The familiar pieces of Boston are shifting into different patterns. How
shall you fit into that changing scene? How shall the College participate in creating
new configurations and helping to solve the riddles that face the larger community?
Like efforts to solve some of the classical problems in mathematics, your responses -
and ours - may not always be instantaneous. Absorbing and sifting multicultural
values, discerning the difference between personal vocation and career option,
identifying the continuum for an increasing population of elders are tasks that require
time and patient reflection, not quick fixes.
The idea that grips you now - the future is a puzzle - can
be the prelude to the recognition that you yourselves are still
discovering your possibilities. So my wish for the Regis
College Class of 2006 is neither magical nor illusory but
confident. As you enter a world of riddles, 1 expect that you
will discover that you have the pieces you need to complete
your particular puzzle. And my wish anticipates you. I
look forward to hearing from you and about you the kind
of insight in which wisdom has taken root. For you
already know the biggest clue of all: Life is more a
mystery to be understood than a problem to be solved.

So many times your hear the phrase, "Your life is like a book and it is
up to you to decide what goes into it." Chapter one of your story
started long ago as a child. Now the last chapter at Regis College is
quickly coming to an end. It's hard to believe thatjust four short
years ago we were wide-eyed first-years eager to experience
everything college had to offer. We were anxious to learn, make new
friends, hang out, go to parties and clubs, and most important, to
grow. Each year we've added some new and unforgettable chapter to
our story. Each page is filled with some magnificent journey that
we've taken. Whether it was the late night trip to Dunkin Donuts or
the semester spent abroad to see the world, our story at Regis has been one that has taken us
places that we could only dare to imagine. It has turned us into the beautiful, creative and
intelligent women that we are today. Our book is not yet complete. Although college is
supposed to be the best four years of our lives, they aren't. It has been a great four years
filled with fun, excitement, and memories but the best of our lives is yet to come. I leave you
with these words to inspire the next chapter of your story.

I would like to thank you for allowing me to serve as your class president this year and wish
the strong, dynamic, diverse, and intelligent women of the Class of 2006 all the success and
happiness the next chapter in your story will bring you!

Class of 2006,
It's so easy to think back to our first day here at Regis College. We were all so excited

During the long winter nights when all the
campus was sleeping, two editors worked the
night away assembling the pieces of the Regis
College puzzle so the graduating seniors could
keep their Regis memories for life.
The whole yearbook process has been like a
—
puzzle the individuals are the pieces of the
puzzle that have come together to assemble the
yearbook.
The yearbook got offto a rough start, but we
managed to overcome the obstacles. It was a
learning process for the both of us and we learned
quickly that putting together a yearbook is a full-
timejob. We were constantlyjumping through
hurdles to get tasks accomplished. It took lots of
determination, patience, motivation, and s’mores!
We had no idea what we were getting
ourselves into when we joined, but the yearbook tested us in everyway imaginable. It tested
our friendship, stress tolerance, drive, determination, management skills, problem solving
skills, and perseverance. We both have come out ofthis experience as stronger
women. .prepared to handle future challenges.

However, we’ll never forget the memories with which the yearbook has left us. We had
occasional visitors at the yearbook office that made sure we weren’t going hungry and the
visitors whojust stopped by to talk and give us a much needed break. We got to meet more
people and became more involved on campus. Ofcourse, we can’t forget the yearbook
slumber parties.
Even though many ofyou don’t know the two of us, you will carry us for a lifetime. We
tried to capture memories of Regis for all ofyou. We hope everyone enjoys the yearbook. A
lot oftime and care went into assembling this Regis College puzzle. Enjoy our final piece of
the Regis College Puzzle...
We would like to give a special thanks to Jackie Gentile, Heidi Gomez, Liz Haire,
Stephanie Laroque, Darlene Rogers, and the yearbook staffwho were dedicated to helping
out with the yearbook. Thanks to Dr. Sara Weintraub for supporting us along the way.
Thanks to John Carrier for being so understanding. Thanks to Paul Lahey for listening to us
and being our second support system and thanks to the Publications Office for being so

Dr. Ed Mulholland has been a
full-time teacher. Academic
Dean, Director of Graduate and
Continuing Education, Associate
Director of the Student Success
Center, and advisor to first-year,
sophomore, and transfer
students, just to name a few of
the many hats he has worn. He is
a true Renaissance man, fusing
economics with any and all other
fields of study while being a living example of the C.S.J. charism. He is
an "'everyman," the hallmark of a good teacher. He has the heart and
soul of a teacher, a comedian, and one who puts ethics into practice, not
theory. You can see it in his smile and in the smiles of those who know
him, whether a long-time friend or a new acquaintance.
Mr. Mayor of Regis, we hope to follow in your footsteps and give back to
Regis our time, our talent, and our hearts as you have so generously done.
