The responsibility for a text falls upon its signatory, and this work makes no
exception.Butiftheauthorshouldassumefullresponsibilityforanyshortcomings
in his work, its merits, however, deserve to be shared. Indeed, the main elements
of the problematics elaborated throughout these pages borrow directly from con-
ceptionsproducedbyeminent thinkers. Mayweciteandpaytribute toSaussurean
structuralism, to the phenomenologies of Husserl and of Merleau-Ponty, to
Popperian epistemology, as well as to the morphodynamics of R. Thom and of
J. Petitot. But it is not solely with respect to its foundations that the present study
exceedsitsauthor.Herein,onewillindeedfindthesesanddevelopmentsextending
theoretical positions that are most personal and were established during previous
works. But in truth, such extensions, in their various forms (in-depth study,
amendments,variations)haveforsourceandwerepromptedbymultipleexchanges
with research companions, laboratory colleagues and friends who have woven the
daily life of the reflections exposed herein. It is therefore my utmost privilege to
express my vivid and heartfelt gratitude to all of them and particularly to the
inexhaustibleinterlocutorsIfoundinthepersonsofJ.Lassègue,V.Rosenthal,and
A.Bondi.AsforY.-M.Visetti,mydebttowardshimisevengreater,asheinfused
