A Note on the Texts
Frank Kessler’s essay on mise en scène was originally published in
the Kino-Agora series under the title Mise en scène in 2014. It is pub-
lished here in a revised and expanded version. Timothy Barnard’s
essay on découpage was originally published in the Kino-Agora
series under the title Découpage in 2014. It was reprinted in 2015 in
a revised version. It is published here in an expanded and further
revised version. Laurent Le Forestier’s essay on montage appears
here for the first time. The present volume was initially published in
2020 in electronic format only. It was republished electronically the
following year with a few minor revisions and corrections and then
in a bound edition in 2022.
