President Rosemarie Fernandez-Pifer resigned effective February 4, 2000.
Acting President Roff acknowledged the resignation of President Rosemarie Fernandez-Pifer
and noted that she was a valued member ofthe Commission. President Fernandez-Pifer*s
background in law, especially civil rights and personnel issues, provided her with intelligent
insight into the many issues faced by the Commission during hertenure. Acting President Roff
reiterated that she will be truly missed and that it had been a privilege to serve with her.

Regular Meeting ofJanuary 27, 2000.
Commissioner Roeca moved and Commissioner Soulis seconded. There were no questions or
discussion and the minutes were approved as presented.
CONSENT CALENDAR

All matters listed hereunder (Items "A" through "E" with the exception of "F" and "G") constitute
a Consent Calendar, were considered to be routine by the Fire Commission, and were acted
upon by a single roll-call vote ofthe Commission. At the request of Firefighter John Darmanin,
Acting President Roff directed that "Items "F" and "G" be removed from the Consent Calendar.

Submitting monthly report from Division of Management Services concerning activities

December 25, 1999 through January 7, 2000, and January 8 through January 21, 2000.

Category C - An accident which has occuned because of apparatus operator's misjudgment of clearance,
