This document describes a new 3D extinction map of the Southern Hemisphere Galactic region created using surface brightness measurements of about 12,000 galaxies from the ESO-LV catalog. The technique used a statistical analysis to simultaneously determine the extinction values and the location of the unreddened surface brightness curve.
