About the Dog Model Coordinator...
Lorraine Houston
Since 1976, Lorraine Houston has been involved
with the plight of homeless, abandoned dogs and
has worked in shelters in the U.S. and Canada.
Lorraine is the author of Nobody's Best Friend
and in 2003 won the Dog Writers Association of
America Maxwell Award for her story "Barry." She
is also a writer for the Mirror and Dogs, Dogs,
Dogs! newspapers.
In addition, Lorraine is an evaluator for Therapeutic Paws of Canada
and St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs. She is also a member of the
Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers and the director
of Speaking of Dogs.
Lorraine is an advocate for humane training, rescue/shelter dog
adoptions and relationships built on kindness and respect. She has
fostered over 300 dogs and found homes for thousands more.
