Forever hold in your hearts all those elements of being young
optimism, passion, innocence, love, lack of limits. Believe in these
qualities and in yourselves. Never forget who you are, what you have
done, and most importantly, what you can do in the future. Never
stop trying to live and never stop fighting for your ideals. If you are
not pushing forward, you are stuck in the past. However, remember
what you learn in your youth, remember what you feel. When you

INTRODUCTION
Hi! I guess this is where I introduce
the Manor Yearbook to the Class of
1991. I also have been told that this
article gives me the opportunity to
reveal the theme of this year's book.
I have to have a theme, Huh? I tried
to find a snappy motif that I could
use throughout the book but wasn't
I
satisfied with the typical yearbook
themes that you may find in any high
school book. Well, being a Chemistry
major with minors in biology and
mathematics, I'm not exactly the
original, creative type. Heck, I'm not
even the creative writer type, as you
could probably tell from this article.
Anyway, what it comes down to is
that I don't really have a theme. The
connective thread that I use to tie
this book together, however, is the
"COLLEGE COMIC".
The "COLLEGE COMIC" highlights
the different aspects of college life.
This comic strip, that will be seen
throughout the book, was skillfully
drawn and created by Bill Walko.
When I thought about what a year-
book should be, I thought of memo-
ries. Memories of what it was like
during probably the four most im-
portant years of my life. So in order
to remember what was important to
me, as the typicalcollege student (or
not so typical in my case), I have de-
signeda college-like formula, a comic
strip. This continuing comic strip
deals with the attitude andactivities
ofa college student. I hope this helps
to jerk a few memories and happy
thoughts of college days and nights
at FairfieldUniversity. At least Ihope
to get a few smiles.
I guess I'd also like to take this op-
portunity to thank allof thosepeople
that helped me put this book togeth-
er. I didn't have a large staff but it
was quality rather than quantity. I
hope the book meets your expecta-
tions and that you enjoy your trip
down memory lane as youperuse the
pages of the Manor 1991 "THE
. . .
COMIC OF COLLEGE".
