INTRODUCTION TO THE PUBLIC ACCOUNTS OF MANITOBA
The Public Accounts of the Province of Manitoba are prepared by statutory requirement, in accordance with
the Financial Administration Act, which is Chapter F55 of the Continuing Consolidation of the Statutes of
Manitoba. The Public Accounts for the fiscal year ended March 31, 1998 consist of four volumes:
Volume 1 -
Contains the Financial Statements of the Operating Fund and Special Funds of the government and
schedules of supporting information.
Contains the details of financial statements.
Contains the details of borrowings and guarantees.
Contains the details of Operating Fund revenue and expenditure.
Contains information provided under statutory requirement.
Contains information concerning certain financial indicators.
Contains glossary information.
Volume 2 -
Contains the details of compensation paid to employees as well as payments to corporations,
firms, individuals, other governments and government agencies.
Volume 3 -
Contains the Summary Financial Statements of the government and schedules of supporting information.
These statements reflect the consolidation of the financial operations of all organizations integral to
the overall operations of government in performing its executive function.
Volume 4 -
Contains the financial statements of funds, organizations, agencies and enterprises comprising
the government reporting entity.
