Physics at Seton Hall
1-) Student to faculty ratio: 14/1 at SHU even better in the Physics
Department: About 6/1 (small class sizes in all major courses). You will receive highly
individualized attention from dedicated faculty both inside and outside the classroom

2-) Distinguished, energetic faculty open to innovations in teaching and student research.

4-) Four active research labs in the dept: (in the areas of materials science, condensed
matter physics/ laser processing laboratory , nanophysics , organic photovoltaics, plasma
physics, and biophysics).
Hands on student research (academic year or summer) is encouraged. About 80% of
our students are involved in research.

5-) Summer internships in Nationwide REU programs (Research Experiences for
Undergraduates) and industry E.g. Northwestern Univ., DOE facilities, High-tech Companies
are supported by the faculty.
