About the Editors
Hanne Warming is Professor of Sociology, Childhood and Social
Work, and head of the research group ‘Social dynamics and Change’,
at the Department of Social Sciences and Business, Roskilde University.
Professor Warming has published extensively in the felds of social
work with children and young people, lived citizenship and trust, and
children’s perspectives. In 2005, she received a prize for the Best Project
of the Year from Te Joint Council for Child Issues in Denmark. In
2008, she was appointed as an EU expert on children’s rights, in
2011 as member of the National Council for Children’s Afairs by
the Minister of Social Afairs, and in 2016 for the European Expert
Database of Outstanding Female Academics “Academianet”.
Currently, Prof. Warming is the leader of three national research
projects, including a project titled ‘Citizenship on the Edge’, funded by
the Danish Council of Independent Research.
Kristian Fahnøe is Senior Lecturer in Social Sciences at the
Department of Social Work, Metropolitan University College. He holds
a Ph.D. in Social Science from Roskilde University (2013). He primarily
teaches at the Bachelor Degree Programme in Social Work with a focus

on social work with adults in marginalized positions, social pedagogy
and inclusion. His research is mainly ethnographic and it centres on
power, knowledge and identity in relation to social work practices with
homeless people and substance and alcohol abusers.
