readers and translated into more than forty languages. As the diets have gained international acceptance, we have continued to develop ways to
make the science accessible and the diets easier to follow, a goal which culminated in Cook Right 4 Your Type. We have made full use of the

This “family secret” that has become such an astounding success story is a testimony to a collaborative process involving many talented and

ACH OF US CARRIES IN OUR BLOOD THE LIVING MEMORY of human history. And someday others will carry our memory into a future we cannot imagine.

When Eat Right 4 Your Type was published (cid:49)ve years ago, we began with a simple premise: Blood type was the way to explain the many

We exist at an exciting moment in our history, when we can both experience and bear witness to a paradigm shift in thought. Our technologies,

to-date knowledge is free and abundant. In June 2000, the Human Genome Project, a government-sponsored research group whose task is to map
the entire human genetic structure; and the biotechnology company Celera announced the completion of a “working draft” of the DNA sequence of
the human genome. Their goal is to complete a high-quality version by 2003. Molecular biology gives us the tools to understand our di(cid:44)erences in
