Table Of ContentDear The Nuclear Regulatory Commission, The New York State House, The New York State Senate, and
Governor Andrew Cuomo,
We are pleased to present you with this petition affirming this statement:
"We, residents of the Hudson Valley and the metropolitan New York and New Jersey areas, are
demanding that the licensing renewals for the Indian Point nuclear power plant for 2013 and 2015 be
denied, and that the plant is closed down as soon as possible. Studies have shown that with upgrades in
the New York State power grid, with energy efficiency and conservation measures, and investment in
renewable sources, Indian Point's capacity can be replaced with minimal cost to consumers."
Attached is a list of individuals who have added their names to this petition, as well as additional comments
written by the petition signers themselves.
Sincerely,
Renee & Jordan kalfus

Enough already with this old, leaky, dirty, filthy thing! Lets' just keep storing more and more nuclear waste in
Westchester. I just can't wait until it has a serious accident, and then we are all totally screwed............great.

You have to wonder how long we can go before there is a terrible accident. Are we just supposed o keep our
fingers crossed? Try to imagine evacuating all the people in the NYC metropolitan area. Impossible. Is it
worth the gamble just so the nuclear power industry can keep making profits?

The insurance industry will not cover an accident at Indian Point, and the nuclear industry will not self-insure.
How much stronger can the evidence be that the risk is untenable?

I am not even against a nuclear power plant for New York City. This one, however, clearly puts everything
and everyone at huge risk. The worst case scenario is not far fetched. Be smart and shut this thing down!
