Ataschoolas largeas Boston Latin School is, itiseasyforastudenttofeelthat
theyarejustanumberinaseaofsomeofthebesthighschoolstudentsinthecity.
It takes a personal connection to make students see that they are a unique and
valuedcomponentofwhatmakesthe prestigeofthisschoolglowso brightly.This
sense of support and appreciation is what Mr. Charles Aversa provides to the
student bodyon adaily basis, even on weekendsand duringvacations! From the
relaxed butseriousmannerinwhich heconductsclasses,tothecountlessnumber
ofevents heattendsorchaperones,Mr.Aversavividlydemonstratesadedication,
notonlytoourclass, buttothestudent bodyasawhole.
Someofus rememberthe passionwithwhich hetaught English in eighth grade
Connections; others remember the communal atmosphere he created for the
students in hissenioryear Humanitiesclass,and even morerememberjustseeing
hisface inthe bleachers, cheeringenthusiasticallyfora Latinvictory.Thecapacity
which you know Mr. Aversa is not the most important aspect ofthis dedication,
althoughyouwouldbeblessedtoknowhimwell.Whatisimportantisthefactthat
hetreats studentswith respectand empathy, and in return gainstheireverlasting
admirationand gratitude.
Thus,wededicatetheClassof2003yearbooktoMr.CharlesAversafornotonly
taking a path less traveled in his teaching style, but most notably for his ever
presentsupportand regardfortheachievementsofthestudentbodyatanylevel.

life. Insomerespectsitisanendingandinother
respects itisabeginning. You have spent many
years here on Avenue Louis Pasteur and been
blessedwith newand awesomechangesduring
yourtime with us. Since you arrived here, you
have seen innovations that the Class of 1953
neverevenimagined.
Each generation passing through the halls has

Whocould haveimaginedtheimpactthattech-
nologywouldhaveonyourlives.Thinkaboutit!
You,theClassof2003, inauguratedthefirsttel-
evision broadcast. You, the Class of2003, also
were required by the Commonwealth of Mas-
sachusettstotakeandpassatacompetencylevel
the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment
System(MCAS)andyoudid,achievingnumber1
statusinthestate.Youhavemuchofwhichyou
shouldbeproud.
Whatwill yourfuture bring? Howwill you give
