Los tempestuosos abismos, indefinidos e inquietantes, del alma humana y la devastadora violencia de sus sentimientos están reflejados con una franqueza al mismo tiempo ingenua y provocativa, hoy intensamente seductora. La obra fascinó desde su publicación a los pocos que tuvieron oportunidad de leerla, entre quienes se cuentan Jean Cocteau y Pierre Mac Orlan. Pero su difusión fue escasa y cayó en el olvido hasta su rescate en Francia.
