We Have the Power of The
1
Holy Spirit!
As Christians, we have the power of
God available to us to put the devil in
his place. We have the power of God
available to us to break every yoke of
bondage—to heal the sick, cast out
devils, open the eyes of the blind and
raise the dead!
But because we don't use that power
—or know how to use it—we let the
devil kick us around. It's time we
started kicking him around—kickin'
devil hiney!
Jesus was anointed to break every
yoke of bondage, and He gave us that
power to use! (See Luke 4:16-21 and
John 20:21—we look at this in more
detail later.)
How do we use the power? By acting

KICKIN' DEVIL HINEY!
on God's Word. Every time we act on
God's Word, miracles will take place!
I love the book of Acts because it shows
the disciples acting on God's
Word and the demonstrations
of God's power that followed.
All through the book of Acts
we read about signs and
wonders.
These supernatural events took place
because the disciples were acting on God's
Word, and God is no respecter of people.
(Acts 10:34.) What worked for the early
disciples will work for us when we act on
God's Word—no matter what our age, race
or popularity.
We Can Be Glad!
Look at Acts, chapter I I, verses 22
and 23 in the NIV:
News of this [of how all the
people were getting saved] reached
the ears of the church at Jerusalem,

SPIRIT!
and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.
When he [Barnabas] arrived and saw
the evidence of the grace of God,
he was glad and encouraged them
all to remain true to the Lord with
all their hearts.
As it says here, when Barnabas had
seen evidence of the grace of God, it
made him glad.
I know it has really made me glad to
see all of the great things God has been
doing in our church and in our
Christian school—young people
accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior
—young people getting healed by God's
power and being filled with the Holy
Spirit.
God is doing incredible things
today! So, just as Barnabas was glad, we
can be glad too.
Cleave to God
Acts 11:23 in the King James Version

KICKIN' DEVIL HINEY!
says:
...when he [Barnabas] came, and
had seen the grace of God, was
glad, and exhorted them all, that
with purpose of heart they would
cleave unto the Lord.
This was Barnabas's message to
those believers: "...that with purpose of
heart they would cleave unto the Lord."
That's something we have to do—in bad
times as well as in good times.
We especially need to hang on to
God when we are going through the
valley. That's when we can't
give up. You have to make
up your mind to cleave to
God with all of your heart.
You must make this decision
and say boldly: "I don't care
what my friends think. I
don't care what other people think. I
don't even care what the devil thinks!
With faith in my heart, I'm going to
hang on to God!'
