Sinikka Aapola-Kari (Dr.Soc.Sc., Docent/Adjunct Professor) is a
Research Director at the Finnish Youth Research Network. She has
specialized in the sociology of childhood and youth, sociology of educa-
tion, gender studies, cultural studies and family research. Aapola-Kari has
also specialized in qualitative methods, including discourse analysis and
participatory methods.
Reidun Follesø is a Professor in Social Work at University of South-
EasternNorway,FacultyofHealthandSocialSciences.SheholdsaMaster
in Social Pedagogy, and a Ph.D. in Social Work. Her primary research
fields are in child protection, youth research and children and youth’s
participation both in research and service development.
Peter Hornbæk Frostholm Associate Professor, Faculty of Education
andSocialStudies,VIAUniversityCollege,Denmark.Withabackground
in Educational Anthropology, Peter Hornbæk Frostholm is interested in
media anthropology, children and youth in marginalized positions and
work anthropology.
David Thore Gravesen AssociateProfessor,Ph.D.,FacultyofEducation
andSocialStudies,VIAUniversityCollege,Denmark.Withabackground
in Educational Sociology, David Thore Gravesen is interested in youth
education, youth culture, leisure time pedagogy, pedagogues in primary

Catrine Torbjørnsen Halås works as an Associate Professor at Faculty
of Teachers education at Nord University. She is educated as a social
worker, holds a Ph.D. in studies of professional praxis and is the leader
of a master programme in practical knowledge.
Karen Healy is a Professor at the School of Nursing, Midwifery and
Social Work, The University of Queensland, Australia. She holds senior
advisory positions in industry and in her professional community.
Professor Karen Healy is the immediate past National President of the
Australian Association of Social Workers, a position to which she was
elected between 2011 and 2017. She is also a National Director for The
Benevolent Society, Australia’s oldest not-for-profit community service
organizations.
Trude Klevan is an Associate Professor in Mental Health at the Univer-
sity of South-Eastern Norway. She has long-standing clinical experience
from child welfare services and mental health. In her daily work life, she
teaches and supervises students and does research. Her main research
interests are development and exploration of critical qualitative inquiry,
experiencebasedknowledge,andthedevelopmentrecovery-orientedand
collaborative practices in the field of mental health.
Vibeke Krane is a clinical social worker and Ph.D. She is an Associate
Professor and Manager of the Mental Health Team, University of South-
Eastern Norway. Her research fields are: collaborative methods, youth
mental health, youth involvement, teacher–student relationships, chil-
dren’s living conditions and service development. Krane has worked for
twenty years as a therapist in mental health services and child welfare
services.
Jenni Lahtinen is a Ph.D. student at the University of Helsinki. Her
dissertation deals with vocational education and sustainable wellbeing.
Lahtinen has done research in the fields of gender and culture-sensitive
careerguidance,youngpeople’seducationalchoices,occupationalgender
segregation, child protection and young people’s service experiences.
Sidse Hølvig Mikkelsen Associate Professor, Faculty of Education and
Social Studies, VIA University College, Denmark. With a background
in Educational Sociology, Sidse Hølvig Mikkelsen is interested in youth
culture, interdisciplinary collaboration, teacher professionalism, inclusion
practices and vulnerable children and youth.
