Preface
Thisvolumeofproceedingsofferstoreadersaselectionofrefereedpapersthatwere
presented at the Sixth International Symposium on Intelligent Systems Technolo-
gies and Applications (ISTA’20). ISTA’20 brought together researchers in related
fieldstoexploreanddiscussvariousaspectsofintelligentsystemstechnologiesand
theirapplications.ThesymposiumwasorganizedbyVelloreInstituteofTechnology
(VIT),Chennai,India,duringOctober14–17,2020.Duetotherecentpandemicsitua-
tion,itwasconductedasavirtualevent.ISTA’20wasco-locatedwiththeInternational
ConferenceonAppliedSoftComputingandCommunicationNetworks(ACN’20).
All submissions were evaluated on the basis of their significance, novelty, and
technical quality. A double-blind review process was conducted to ensure that the
namesandaffiliationsofauthorswereunknowntoTPC.Thisvolumeconsistsof28
papers(19regularand9shortpapers)thatwerevirtuallypresentedatthesymposium.
The papers cover different areas such as big data analytics, security and privacy,
InternetofThings,machineanddeeplearning,healthinformatics,visualcomputing,
signalprocessing,andnaturallanguageprocessing.
We are very grateful to the many people who contributed to the organization
of the symposium. Our heartfelt thanks go to all the authors for submitting their
researchresultstothesymposiumandtothemembersoftheprogramcommitteefor
theircarefulandinsightfulreviews.WearegratefultoVelloreInstituteofTechnology
