About the Editor
Devendra Pal Singh, PhD
Devendra Pal Singh, PhD, was formerly Principal Scientist (Plant Pathology)
and Principal Investigator (Crop Protection Programme) at the ICAR-Indian
Institute of Wheat and Barley Research, Karnal, India (1991–2019), dealing
with integrated pest management. In addition, he also worked on bast fiber
crops, food legumes, rice, maize, millets, fruits, vegetable crops, and aromatic
plants at different institutes. He is currently working as Senior Consultant at
Weather Risks Management Services, Gurugram, India. Dr. Singh served as
a United Nations (V) Specialist in Zambia on a United Nations Development
Programme/Food and Agriculture Organization project; as a visiting scientist
at Université Catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium; as an
Indian National Science Academy fellow working at the Nepal Agricultural
Research Council; as an Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation expert
in Guyana at the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute,
Mon Repos; and as Coordinator at the Rice Research Station, Guyana Rice
Development Board, Guyana. He has published over 118 research papers
and edited three books. He is fellow of the Indian Phytopathological Society,
Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology, and Indian Society of Plant
Pathologists as well as on the editorial boards and panels of reviewers for
several international journals in plant pathology, including those published by
the American Phytopathological Society. Dr. Singh earned his PhD in Plant
Pathology from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, also
known as Pantnagar University, Pantnagar, India.
