Shape understanding remains one of the most intriguing problems in computer
vision and human perception. This book is a collection of chapters on shape
analysis,byexpertsinthefield,highlightingseveralviewpoints,includingmodeling
andalgorithms,inbothdiscreteandcontinuousdomains.Itisasummaryofresearch
presentationsanddiscussionsonthesetopicsataDagstuhlworkshopinApril2011.
