For the first time, a poster contest was held in
Illinois schools this spring to celebrate
America Recycles Day.Eligible entrants
wererequiredtobeinthefourth,fifthor
sixth grade, and only one finalist per
classroomwas allowedto enter.
Theposterswerejudged on theme,clari-
ty of the 4Rs message, originality and
neatness/attractiveness. Experts in the
areasofrecycling,artandcommunications
chose sixwinners from the nearly 100 finalist entries tf
combined into one poster thatwill serves as the officia
paign.Thewinners also receivea special“earth flag”an
