La sospirata vacanza va cosi in fumo e Holt rientra a Londra per cercare di risolvere il caso, che si presenta subito intricato. E anche pericoloso, perche c’e qualcuno che vede Larry Holt come una minaccia da eliminare a tutti costi. Tutto si complica ancor di piu quando una mano misteriosa arriva a rubare oggetti importantissimi per l’inchiesta nella stessa sede di Scotland Yard…Edgar Wallacenacque nel 1875 a Greenwich (Londra). Comincio a lavorare giovanissimo; a diciott’anni si arruolo nell’esercito ma nel 1899 riusci a farsi congedare. Fu corrispondente di guerra per diversi giornali. Ottenne il suo primo successo come scrittore con I quattro giusti, nel 1905. Da allora scrisse, in ventisette anni, circa 150 opere narrative e teatrali di successo, nonche la sceneggiatura del celeberrimo King Kong. Definito “il re del giallo”, e morto nel 1932.
