hematologyat2AMinthemorning.Thenightbeforeourexam,shewalkedthroughthe
fishbowlandlibrary,candybaginhand,justtoseeifwehadanylingeringquestions,orjust
neededalittlesugar.AftersuccessfullyfinishingourHem/Oncblock,shethrewusapartyin
herownbackyard.HerewasTHEDr.Ellis,leukemiaextraordinaire,withanapronon,tongsin
hand,flippingburgersforus!Asweprogressedthroughsecondyear,themorningofour
blockexamsalwaysincludedtheappearanceofnolessthaneightboxesoffreshhotKrispy
Kremedonutsinthestudentlounge.
Movingintothirdyear,aluckyhandfulofushadtheprivilegeofrotatingthroughthe
leukemiaservice,witnessingDr.Ellisinaction.Itwasstunningtoseethatshecouldbeeven
morededicatedtoanothergroupofpeople,herpatients!There'sareasonherpatientsare
fcilearscseldyelcoiydaledtotohehraavsewaellr.euSniinocnewcoeokw-eoruetsincaMtiltleerrePdarakm.oOnfgcoduirffseereDnrt.rEloltisatwiaosnstthhearte.yeWaer,our
wouldn'tbeawholeclasswithouther!
Andnowasweneartheendofourfourthandfinalyearofmedicalschool,welook
backandreflectwithfullhearts-Dr.Ellis,youhavemadeadifferenceintheClassof2015,
