Sie hat nun über zwanzig Jahre ihre stille<br> Wirkung getan. Oft ist der Wunsch nach einer Fortsetzung von<br> dankbaren Lesern laut geworden, und Schempp hatte sich entschlossen,<br> ihn zu erfüllen, hat seine Absicht aber nicht mehr ausführen<br> können. Nachdem nun auch die zweite Auflage vergriffen war, war es<br> leider nicht möglich, kurzerhand alle in seinem Nachlaß vorhandenen<br> Grabreden aufzunehmen. Die von ihm selbst zusammengestellte Sammlung<br> wollte ich nicht ändern. So blieb nichts übrig, als sie wenigstens<br> durch einige der späteren Stücke aus den Jahren 1939 bis 1947 (die<br> Nummern 26 bis 30) zu ergänzen; ich bin mir bewußt, daß meine<br> Auswahl subjektiv und zufällig ist.
